Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Long ago Giants and Dragons fought for supremacy over the world, legends and myths say during a critical juncture in the old wars a group of Fire Giants used ancient blood magic in an attempt to turn the tide. In doing so they created powerful armors that became known as Dreadnought Armor. Capable of increasing the wearers physical prowess, the Dreadnoughts were almost as living entities nearly merging with the wearer. Though powerful, the old blood magic’s of the Giant armor proved to have adverse effects on the wearers during prolonged use. So they were discarded and all texts of there existence was burned from memory. Forgotten to time the Dreadnought and their magic that created them were lost to ruins and ancient tombs...waiting to be reawakened.

“A Dreadnought is a fighter who has either unwittingly stumbled upon or tirelessly sought out the ancient myths of the powerful but dangerous Dreadnought Armors made by Fire Giants during the forgotten wars. Making a blood pact; they’re bond can never be severed between the supernatural armor and themselves, enhancing the fighters already impressive physical capabilities in battle at the cost of draining there lifeblood.”

Legacy of War

Starting at 3rd level the blood pact you have made with the Huge Dreadnought armor is complete. Mind, body and soul are bound to unknown magic’s laying dormant within the Dreadnought. You’re able to now summon your Dreadnought armor from its ancient resting place as an action (The Armor does not have to be on the same plain of existence for you to summon it). During this action your armor moves to you and you can don it. (This does not trigger an opportunity attack).
You can operate the Dreadnought for 10 minutes, after which you can dismiss it back through a portal or continue to wear it. Every 10 minutes you gain one level of exhaustion.
Any level of exhaustion you have is dismissed while you wear the Dreadnought Armor but as soon as you doff the armor you regain all the negative effects of your current exhaustion level.
While using the Dreadnought armor you count as a creature of huge size (between 16’ and 26’), carrying capacity multiplier applies appropriately. Any weapons or special armor a character possess on their body the Dreadnought Armor can duplicate. The weapon retains any special abilities and stats, including special damage types (such as a +1 Greataxe, the fire damage from flame tongue, or adamantine armor protection from critical hits). You can use both melee and ranged weapons.

While operating the Dreadnought Armor you gain the fallowing benefits, some of these benefits are improved at later levels in this class.

  • Your armor class is increased by 1. This bonus is increased to 2 at level 15 in this Class.
  • You gain proficiency in Athletics, if you are already proficient in Athletics then you gain expertise in Athletics
  • While using the Dreadnought Armor you deal double damage to objects and structures.
  • Whenever you hit with a weapon while using the Dreadnought Armor and deal damage, your weapon’s damage increases by an amount based on your level in this class. The extra damage die is considered Force damage.

Blod bond

Starting at 7th level your body begins to adjust to the blood magic that has been coursing through your veins while connected to your Dreadnought. You are more adept at recovering from the toll of exhaustion. Additionally, your blood has permanently been altered by the magic of the Dreadnought Armor causing you body to resist foreign substances.

  • When you take a long rest to recover from Exhaustion you can now recover from two levels instead of just one.
  • You have advantage on Constitution saves to resist Poison and Disease

Living Fortress

At 10th level the forgotten blood magic that connects you and the Dreadnought together strengthens the armor to supernatural means.

  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage while inside the Dreadnought Armor.

Order through Strength

At 15th level you have harnessed true control of the Dreadnought Armor, making you especially deadly when landing a critical blow.

  • When you are inside your Dreadnought Armor and you land a Critical Hit, instead of rolling your dice for weapon and critical damage you may instead maximize all damage for that critical hit.

Dragon Slayer

By 18th level, you have attained mastery of your body and the blood magic that flows through you and your Dreadnought armor, surpassing even the long dead giants who once used it to slay even the greatest of foes. You can now force the exhausting blood magic you have attained upon your enemies.

  • If a creature is within 5 feet of you, you can force it to make a Con save. On a failed save it takes half of your exhaustion levels rounded down.(minimum of 1)
  • Your Save DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier
  • After you use this feature you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
