Monk
Base Class: Monk

This subclass is built to provide a means of protection from the dangers of the world for not just the rich and powerful, but also for the weak and poor commoners of the realm. They train within a few select monasteries within the kingdom. Then when they are ready, either set out to roam the land, protect the people, or some other select few, set out to expand the reach of the Order and establish a new monastery to train recruits.

Shields of the people

At level 3 you gain proficiency with shields, and they are now considered a monk weapon for you. You are also able to apply your unarmored defense to your AC while holding a shield.

You also are able to utilize your deflect missiles ability when a allied creature within 5ft of you is targeted by a ranged weapon attack.

Warriors of Restoration

At level 6 you are able to use your ki to heal people. As an action you can spend 1 ki point to cast the spell Cure Wounds at 2nd level, using your wisdom modifier for this spell.

You also gain the ability to utilize your ki to provide extra protection for yourself, you gain the ability to cast shield as a reaction.

Blast of Ki

At level 11 these warriors learn of ways to improve their ability to temporarily incapacitate enemies.

When you make an attack roll at advantage and use your stunning strike ability, the enemy makes the saving throw at disadvantage. Additionally, if the enemy rolls a natural 1 on a saving throw against your stunning strike, or fails the save by more than 10, they are paralyzed instead of stunned until the end of your next turn and fall prone. If the creature is immune to paralysis, this ability overcomes that immunity.

Shield of the World

Gain an additional +1 to AC while wielding a shield. Additionally, when a melee weapon attack misses you, you can use your reaction to deal damage equal to your monk level to the attacker, they also must make a constitution saving throw against your ki DC. On a fail, the target takes the damage again and is stunned until the end of your next turn.

You also gain the ability to utilize your ki to prevent the casting of magical spells. You can spend 5 ki to cast Counterspell at 3rd level with your wisdom as the spellcasting modifier for it. When you successfully thwart a spell, regain ki equal to the spells level up to 5.
