Restriction: Neutral Alignment
Monks of the Way of Tranquility believe in one thing over all else 'Balance of the Soul'. You must be of a Neutral alignment to take this Way. Monks of the Iris believe balance can be achieved in all matters of life, and they develop abilities that reflect this.
Balance In All Things
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your training grants you the ability to manifest your Ki in several new ways. You gain the following abilities:
- Destruction orb: You gain a special ranged spell attack with a range of 30 ft. that uses your DEX modifier and deals force damage equal to your Martial Arts die. When you take the Attack action, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action and you can use this attack as any of the attacks using the Extra Attack feature.
- Harmony Orb: You may as a bonus action, spend 2 Ki points to bless a creature within 30 ft. of you with a Harmony Orb. This Orb requires concentration, and lasts up to 1 minute. You know the location of the blessed creature through objects and walls, if the target of your orb is no longer within 30 ft. of you the effect ends. A creature blessed with your Harmony Orb regains hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier at the start of each of their turns. This effect cannot heal a blessed creature above half of their hit point maximum.
- Discord Orb: You may as a bonus action, spend 2 Ki points to afflict a creature within 30 ft. of you with a Discord Orb. This Orb requires concentration, and lasts up to 1 minute. You know the location of the blessed creature through objects and walls, if the target of your orb is no longer within 30 ft. of you the effect ends. Whenever you make an attack against a creature afflicted by Discord orb, you deal additional force damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.
Poised Iris
Starting at 6th level, you gain the ability to concentrate on your Harmony and Discord orbs at the same time. When concentrating on multiple orbs at once, it is considered a single concentration effect for the purposes of concentration checks. You also have advantage on Charisma saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Serenity of the Soul
At 6th level you have found peace within your soul. When you go below half of your maximum hit points, you enter a state of serenity to calm your soul, you regain 1d8 + your Wisdom modifier of hit points at the start of each of your turns as long as you are not incapacitated. With this feature you cannot regain hit points above half your maximum hit points. Once you are no longer below half your hit point maximum this effect ends, and cannot be repeated until after you finish a short or long rest.
Centered Mind
Starting at 11th level, you can now have additional orbs activate at once. The maximum amount of orbs you can add to your concentration at a time is equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 2). The effects of your orbs do not stack, and each creature may only be affected by 1 orb at a time.
Transcendence
At 17th Level, your mind is opened to the Iris. As an action, you can make yourself immune to all damage, and all other allied creatures and within a 30 ft. radius of you gain resistance to all damage until the start of your next turn. At the start of each other creatures turn that is affected by this ability, those creatures regain hp equal to your Monk level. When you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
