Masters of blade and wit, Corsair's live by the speed of their reflexes and the luck of the bold...

Whether good or evil or somewhere in between, the Corsair is a character with flair and finesse. Less heavily armoured than the average fighter the Corsair specialises in finesse based attacks and versatile advantage based abilities. Generally, a Corsair character will choose Dexterity and Constitution as their highest stats.

Corsairs Companion

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast Find Familiar. You are able to use this ability again after a long rest. In addition to the standard familiar types available, you may also choose an imp, quasit, pseudo-dragon or sprite as your familiar.

Finesse Master

Starting at 7th level, when not wearing heavy armour, your character can deal additional damage with finesse attacks. This additional damage is listed below and only applies to successful attacks made with finesse weapons your character has proficiency in.

7th level: +1d6 damage 

14th level: +1d8 damage

20th level: +1d10 damage 

 

Luck of the Bold

Starting at 10th level and when not wearing heavy armour or incapacitated, you can choose to take advantage on Initiative rolls and Dexterity saving throws. You can choose to take your advantage rolls after your initial roll but before the outcome of the roll is determined.

Finesse Critical

Starting at 15th level, when your character rolls a critical hit with a finesse weapon and they are not wearing heavy armour, they add extra damage to equal to their level in this class.

Elusive

Starting at 18th level, your Corsair character is so alert and agile that no attacks have advantage against them unless they are incapacitated.
