Base Class: Bard
The College of Fortune is an occult college based around astral signs and divination magic. The College of Fortune bard uses their Astral Deck to glimpse into the future, and better prepare for what's to come.
Astral Deck
Beginning at 3rd level you create a magical deck of cards used to read fortunes. If your Astral Deck is lost or destroyed, you can spend a long rest and 50 gp to craft a new deck.
Astral Cards Whenever you regain Bardic Inspiration die you can expend a Bardic Inspiration die to draw from the Astral Deck. The number you roll on your Bardic Inspiration die corresponds to a card form the deck (as shown in the Astral Deck table below). You draw one card from the deck for each Bardic Inspiration die you expend, you can only expend a number of Bardic Inspiration die at once equal to half of your level. Once you use the effect of a card drawn form the Astral Deck, you can't use that card again unless it's drawn from the deck the next time you use this feature.
Astral Deck
| ROLL | CARD |
|---|---|
| 1-2 | Favor |
| 3-4 | Knight |
| 5-6 | Swords |
| ROLL | CARD |
|---|---|
| 7-8 | Trickster |
| 9-10 | Savior |
| 11-12 | Mime |
Favor. When a creature within 30 feet of you fails an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can use a reaction to add your charisma bonus to the roll, possibly turning the failure into a success.
Knight. When a creature within 30 feet of you is attacked, you can use your reaction and the target gains a bonus to AC equal to your charisma bonus, until the end of the turn.
Swords When an ally within 30 feet of you hits with an attack roll, as a reaction you can add additional damage to the roll, this additional damage equals your bardic inspiration die + half your bard level.
Trickster. When a creature succeeds on an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can use your reaction to subtract your charisma bonus from the roll, possibly turning the success into a failure.
Savior. When a creature takes damage you can use your reaction to cause them to regain a number of hit points equal to your bardic inspiration die + half your bard level.
Mime. When a creature that you can see casts a spell, you can use your reaction to cast the same spell. If the spell isn't a Bard spell it nonetheless becomes a Bard spell for you while using this card.
Read Fortune
Beginning at 3rd level, you've learned to read people, and to manipulate them into divulging private information under the guise of "Fortune Telling". You can spend 10 minutes to read the fortune of a willing creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. Make a performance check, against the target creatures passive insight. If you succeed, the target is charmed by you for 10 minutes. Additionally you learn one of the following details about the target, at the DM's discretion:
-
You learn the name of a close associate or recently deceased loved one.
-
You learn the name and location of a valuable personal item.
Reverse Fortune
Starting at 6th level you can alter a creature's fortunes. When a creature within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, with advantage, or disadvantage, you can use your reaction to turn a roll with advantage into disadvantage, or turn a roll with disadvantage into advantage.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Reshuffle
Starting at 14th level whenever you draw from your Astral Deck you can reroll one of the Bardic Inspiration die and choose either result.
