The Theatre
The Theatre is a formless being that is an embodiment of performance, entrancement, and manipulation of the masses. Generally pacts through this entity are made through contact. Be that watching a musical or play the Theatre performed in, volunteering in a magic trick performed by the Theatre, or perhaps it simply took a liking to you for your talent as an entertainer. As manipulative and deceitful as the Theatre is, it hardly asks for more than appreciation from its patrons. The Theatre craves fame, but at the same time realizes it’s “acts“ would not quite be the same if people knew about it. However, some powerful entities such as Tatiana of the Summer Court, Asmodeus, and most deities know of the Theatre and it’s powers.

Origins                                                                                   It’s origin is unclear, even to the Theatre itself. Theories suggest the Theater was born of the very idea of performance that collected and manifested. Others theorize it was created by Tatiana, noting her interest in manipulation. Tatiana however claims the Theatre was a lost soul who happened to appear in her court and gained power there by watching and listening to the various lies, plays on words, and manipulation techniques that pass through there. From there the Theatre traveled to the material realm and discovered the wonders of performance and studied as a bard. With this new power he combined his knowledge and became the Theatre. However, while feasible, many know Tatiana is not to be trusted.

Connections                                                                           The Theatre has many connections. One most prevalent is Tatiana of the Summer Court but a full list of connections has yet to be released. It seems those who he trusts with existence is otherworldly beings who aren’t particularly interested in the well being of mortals and those who enjoy watching its performances. However, the Theatre’s connections give no lead to it’s morals. It’s connections range from pure evil to pure good while also spilling between law and chaos. Some who know of the Theatre describe it as “a seed of pure chaos, terrifying and frightful yet somehow...I am truly captivated by its presence.” - Tatiana.

Today's Perfomance

Starting at 1st level, you gain proficiency in any two skills of your choice. When you complete a long rest, you may switch one of these skills with any other skill you are not proficient with.

Flexible Wardrobe

You gain proficiency with a disguise kit and add it to your starting equipment. You can make a decent disguise in half the time it normally takes. If you spend 1 your creating a disguise, checks to determine it is a disguise are made with disadvantage. While in a disguise you can make Charisma based skill checks as if you had expertise in those skills.

Improvise!

At 6th level your patron bestows upon you knowledge of improvisation. You can use each of the following effects once per short rest as a reaction:

  • If you would make an attack roll with a weapon you are not proficient in, you may choose to be proficient with that weapon for the next minute or until you hit a target.
  • If you would make a saving throw you are not proficient with, you may choose to be proficient with for that one saving throw.
  • If you would make a skill check with a skill you are not proficient with, you may gain proficiency with that skill for the next minute.
  • If you would attempt to use a tool you are not proficient with, you may become proficient with that tool for the next minute.

Fake Tears

Starting at 10th level, when you are targeted for an attack and can see the attacker, you may use your reaction to make them drop their attack. The target makes a wisdom save against your spell DC. On a fail they miss automatically. If you have harmed the target within the past 24 hours, they make this save with advantage. You may use this reaction a number of times equal to your charisma modifier. You regain expended uses on a long rest.

Last Laugh

Starting at 14th level, when you fall to 0 hit points, you may do a short performance. Make a performance check. All targets of your choice within 30ft must make a Wisdom save against your performance check. A target that fails their save takes 5d6 psychic damage and is charmed by you for the next minute. Those charmed by you are under the effects of the Command spell, however all targets must follow the same command. Those that succeed their save take half damage and are not charmed. You may choose to fail up to 2 death saving throws. For each save you fail add 2d6 to the damage. If you choose to fail 2 death saves, you may add your charisma modifier to the damage. If an attack made you fall to 0 hit points, the maker of that attack makes their save with disadvantage. Once you use this ability you may not do so again until you complete a long rest.
