Monk
Base Class: Monk

Many of the monks of this discipline are those who have left the confines of their monastery or abandoned their training for good, whether due to a self-imposed exile or being forcefully cast out. Such monks are often disillusioned with the traditional teachings espoused by their monasteries, preferring instead to walk their own path. Such a life choice is rarely easy, and monks who become outcast tend to pursue life choices based on the skills available to them, leading most to lives as mercenaries, adventurers and vagabonds. Having such intensive martial training provides an edge in combat, where such monks, no longer under the supervision of their masters, are able to fully unleash their violent capabilities - however,  such freedom can come with discontent to those used to rigid order, with many of these outcasts retaining a connection to Ki in their own way as they explore this new life.

Strength in Exile

At 3rd level, your path has led you far from the teachings of the monastery, including its scrutiny and regulations.

You can use your Strength modifier in place of your Wisdom modifier when determining the DC for your monk abilities. In addition, you gain proficiency in light armor, which does not prohibit your Unarmored Movement or Martial Arts features when worn.

Irrepressible Spirit

If experience has taught you anything, it is that the hardest part your journey is yet to come.

At 3rd level, you can expend 1 Ki point (no action required) to bolster your resolve, gaining temporary hit points equal to the maximum possible roll of your Martial Arts die (4 at 1st level, 6 at 5th level, 8th at 11th level, 10 at 17th level). Using your Ki this way also sates your hunger and thirst for the day, replenishing some of your energy.

Worldly Experience

At 6th level, time spent away from the monastery has given you a wealth of life experience you might never have otherwise learned. You learn one language and one tool of your choice, and gain proficiency in Survival or Intimidation (your choice). In addition, when you are knocked prone by a hostile creature, you gain temporary hit points equal to half your Monk level, and can stand back up at the start of your next turn by expending 5ft of movement.

Intimidation

You gain proficiency in Intimidation.

Survival

You gain proficiency in Survival.

Unorthodox Technique

The trials and tribulations of your harsh journey have led you to develop an unconventional fighting style.

When you reach 11th level, you gain proficiency in Improvised weapons, which count as Monk weapons for you. In addition, when you use your Stunning Strike on a creature, the target has disadvantage on the save if the attack is a critical hit.

Fury Unending

You are tireless and relentless in battle, using Ki to sustain your fury.

At 17th level, your Flurry of Blows feature no longer costs Ki to use. In addition, if one your attacks made as part of the Attack action successfully hits a creature, subsequent attacks against the same target as part of your Flurry of Blows have advantage until the start of your next turn.
