Base Class: Sorcerer
Your innate magical abilities may have been acquired recently through a chance encounter with a magical force, or perhaps they have been present from birth: a result of some magical ancestry or a deal made somewhere in your lineage. Regardless of their source, you have found that traditional verbal and somatic spell casting methods have never worked for you. Far from doing what you wanted, your magic instead created uncontrolled and often harmful outcomes. In an effort to gain self-control and possibly ground your magic, you focused on mastering an artistic passion. During this study, you discovered how to craft items that harnessed and shaped your magic. For the first time, you were able to utilize spells in predictable ways.
As you gain levels, the number of specific spells you have crafted foci for, and the amount of energy you can route through them, increases as shown in the Sorcerer Table.
Rather than gaining the traits and features of either sorcerous origin, you follow the Spellcrafter's path which gives you features when you choose it at 1st level and again at 6th, 14th, and 18th level.
Craft Specialization
Your spellcrafting developed after reaching a level of mastery in your chosen medium. When you choose this sorcery path at 1st level, you gain double proficiency with one of the following crafts and can add your personalized set of tools to your equipment: Calligrapher's supplies, Carpenter's Tools, Cobbler's tools, Glassblower's Tools, Jeweler's Tools, Leatherworker's Tools, Painter's supplies, Potter's tools, Smith's tools, Tinker's tools, Weaver's tools, or Woodcarver's tools.

Crafted Metamagic
As somatic and verbal bases for spells have never worked for you, now you are not beholden to them. Starting at 1st Level, the metamagic "subtle spell" is inherent in your crafted items. You only need to use spell components if they have a monetary cost attached, and otherwise your item acts as a focus for the spell entwined within it. You cannot cast any spell higher than a cantrip without access to its crafted focus.
Risky Magic
Your knowledge of the arcane and mastery over spell shaping has given you some level of traditional spell control, though it comes with a cost. Starting at 6th level, if you use sorcery points to create a spell slot, you can cast a known spell without access to its crafted focus item. If you use this ability, you must immediately roll on the Wild Magic table as listed under "Wild Magic Origin" in the PHB. Spells cast with this ability do not gain the subtle spell benefit unless additional sorcery points are used for the metamagic ability.
Prepared Items
With your growing control of both your magic and your craftsmanship, you have gained the ability to create one-use magical items. At 14th level, you can create a small item imbued with a spell. It must be a spell that you can cast, decided at the time of the item's creation. Anyone can use this item, and the spell attack bonus/DC is yours regardless of who uses it. You must spend 15 minutes to create the item, and spend the sorcery point cost of the spell level imbued. This spell cannot be higher than a level 5. This item loses its magical properties after 1 week or if you use this ability to create another item.
Retaliatory Magic
You have attained a level of mastery in your craft rivaled only by the most revered guild masters. Your improvements and embellishments have made your items increasingly open to magical energy. At level 18, you can spend 5 sorcery points as a reaction when hit with a spell effect. In doing so, an item of your choice absorbs the energy of the spell, halving the damage and immediately casting its crafted spell. If the spell cast by the object is of a higher level than the one that hit you, the spell is not cast. If the spell cast by the object is of a lower spell level than the one that hit you, the spell acts as though cast at a higher level.
