Base Class: Monk

Monks of the way of the Dragon have empowered their Ki mastery with the raw magical essence of draconian magic, creating a new way of fighting. Way of the dragon monks are versatile in the powers their ancestry gifts them, using their draconic elements and incorporating them flawlessly in both attacking and defending, and eventually; have their ancestry itself take shape around them.

Dragon's Ki

When you take this monastic trait at 3rd level, choose one of the 10 dragon colors to be the source of your draconic ancestry. Your chosen color of dragon ancestry has influenced your ki, allowing you to use it in unique ways compared to other monk sub classes. As a Bonus action, you can spend a ki point to empower your body with draconic infused Ki energy. The effect lasts for 1 minute, and the effect it has on your body depends on your draconic ancestry.

 

Red/Brass/Gold - Fire: Your monk weapons and unarmed strikes deal an extra D6 in Fire damage on a hit. Additionally, you are resistant to Fire damage in this state.

Blue/Bronze - Lightning: Your monk weapons and unarmed strikes deal an extra D6 in lightning damage on a hit. Additionally, you are resistant to Lighting damage in this state.

Green - Poison: Your monk weapons and unarmed strikes deal an extra D6 in poison damage on a hit. Additionally, you are resistant to poison damage in this state.

Black/Copper - Acid: Your monk weapons and unarmed strikes deal an extra D6 in Acid damage on a hit. Additionally, you are resistant to acid damage in this state.

White/Silver - Cold: Your monk weapons and unarmed strikes deal an extra D6 in cold damage on a hit. Additionally, you are resistant to cold damage in this state.

Dragon’s Vitality

At 6th level, While using draconic Ki, if you are hit by a damage type that’s the same type as your draconic ancestry type, As a reaction; you can spend 2 Ki points to heal by the amount of damage that would have been dealt instead.

Dragon’s Steelskin

At 11th level, while using your draconic Ki state, when you take the patient defense action; your draconic ki provides an extra level of protection. If you’re hit by a melee attack while using patient defense in this state, as a reaction; you can spend 2 Ki points to inflict one of the following conditions based on your draconic ancestry.

 

Red/Brass/Gold - You take half the damage you would have taken, the attacker is now on fire and takes 1d6 fire damage at the start of their turns, unless they take an action to put out the fire.

Blue/Bronze - You take half the damage you would have taken, the attacker then becomes stunned, and takes 1 D6 Lightning damage at the start of their turns. At the end of their turn, they can make a constitution saving throw against your Ki save DC and end the effect on a successful save.

Green - You take half the damage you would have taken, the attacker then becomes poisoned and takes 1 d6 poison damage at their start of their turns. At the end of their turn, they can make a constitution saving throw against your Ki save DC and end the effect on a successful save.

Black/Copper - You take half the damage you would have taken, the attacker’s speed is halved and takes 1 d6 acid damage at the start of it’s turns. At the end of their turn, they can make a constitution saving throw against your Ki save DC and end the effect on a successful save.

White/Silver - You take half the damage you would have taken, the attacker then becomes Paralyzed and takes 1 d6 cold damage at the start of their turns. At the end of their turn, they can make a constitution saving throw against your Ki save DC and end the effect on a successful save.

Dragon’s Spirit

At 17th level, While using your draconic Ki state; As an action, you can call upon your draconic ancestry, and spend 5 Ki points to have your Ki erupt from you in the form of magically projected dragon. The dragon’s form acts as a 20 foot aura around you and moves with you. A creature that first enters or starts it’s turn in your aura takes 1 d10 damage of your draconic ancestry type. Your dragon’s aura has an AC of 18 and has hit points equal to your maximum hit points. If the Spirit dragon’s hit points hit zero, the dragon fades and your draconic ki state ends.

While in this state, if an enemy wants to attack you from outside of your aura, they must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, you take the damage as normal. On a failed save, the attacker hits your aura instead.

As a Bonus action, you can spend 2 Ki points to have your dragon spirit attack a target within range. You use the young Dragon of your ancestry type’s stat sheet for attacks the projected dragon can perform.

This state lasts for the duration of your draconic Ki is active, when the dragon’s Hp hits 0 or you fall unconscious. When this ability ends, regardless of how; you take 1 point of exhaustion.
