Base Class: Barbarian
The tribe pushed forward, through the cold tundra, towards the tree line. Just a little longer. We were the stragglers, the old and the injured... though seasoned warriors, all of us. The rest of them had pushed ahead, we would meet them at the fork of the river, where the trees shrank away from the banks and gave a good clearing for us clansmen to settle. Night came as we neared the trees, and a shuffling followed us. A rush of wind, and the scramble of feet against the forest floor. We had feared wolves, or perhaps another clan... but our axes were strong, and our arms were stronger. Let whatever prowled the woods come for us, let them taste the blades of seven raging barbarians.
A spear struck through the chest of our youngest, the strongest of us. So fast, we hadn't even heard their approach. The spear lingered behind, but there was no soul wielding it. I heard another rush of wind, as I turned I saw a shadow and a flash of moonlight against steel. Two more of us dead, and then another, and another. The shadow rushed around us, picking us off one by one. Was he but one creature, or were there a hundred? I held my axe firm, for sixty years I had swung it true... old as I was, I would not die without a fight. As a final rush of wind was heard I turned and saw him... but it was no him. It was a her. Dressed in rags, blood around her mouth, nails long and red and dripping with gore. It was one elf girl, alone. Her rage, her ferocity... it made ours look meek.
She jumped at me, and I hadn't the skill to dodge it... I felt her her feet on my chest, her hands clawing my back and her teeth, by the gods, I felt her teeth biting, tearing... gnawing into my neck. So angry. So feral.
Most barbarians carry themselves as beasts with the hearts of a men... Feral Prowlers, like you, are beasts through and through. Relying solely on pure instinct and the weapons the gods gave you. You specialise in unmatched demonstrations of savagery, rage and destruction. With tooth and claw you leap from foe to foe, scratching, tearing and biting, with reactions so fine-tuned that the world almost seems to slow as your bloodlust takes the helm.
While your ability in battle is unmatched, there are many in the world who see you as a savage, and would not understand the skills you have inherited. Be careful with whom you show your true abilities... the world might not be ready for the primal destruction of the Feral Prowler.
Hasted Rage
Bite and Scratch - Starting when you choose this primal path at level 3, you are able to focus your rage into unnatural feats of speed and savagery. Your movement speed is increased by 10, your climbing speed is the same as your movement and you are able to leap 10 feet from standing. You gain the ability to gore your foes, giving you the bite and claw attacks which you can use once per turn as a bonus action.
Bite - 1d4 piercing + dex modifier + rage bonus. Claw - 1d4 slashing + dex modifier + rage bonus.
Pounce - You can also use half your movement to 'pounce' onto enemies, with a successful acrobatics check contested by the opponents strength. If you fail, they may use their reaction to make an attack of opportunity with advantage. However if successful, you latch onto an enemy and give them disadvantage with all attacks and saving throws, until you are either thrown off them, or you leave of your own accord.
Sticks and Stones - You gain the ability to use certain weapons with you dexterity modifier, this includes: Spears, tridents, handaxes and light hammers. You also get proficiency bonuses while literally using sharpened sticks or heavy stones.
Frenzied Pounce
At level 6 you gain the ability to pounce onto your enemies with more force, if your pounce action is successful the enemy must then make a strength saving throw or be knocked prone. At this level as well, if you dispatch an enemy while still latched onto them, you can use your bonus action to leap from his body and pounce onto another within 10 feet of you.
Swift as a Shadow
Beginning at 10th level, you can use your action to dash, climb or leap into hiding at such a speed as to avoid being seen entirely. At the beginning on your next turn, if still undetected, you may strike out from where you are hiding, gaining advantage with the strike and adding sneak attack damage of 6d6, at 14th level the sneak attack damage increases to 8d6.
Once used, this feature can not be used again until you have completed a short or long rest.
Feral Instincts
Starting at 14th level, your instincts are honed to perfection. You gain an extra reaction per round. You also gain advantage on DEX saves and you may add your proficiency bonus to DEX saves as well.
