Base Class: Bard
By adding your knowledge of the arcane with your knowledge of the stove, you are able to create great works of art worthy of any great royal banquet, or, if one such occasion can't be found, your local dive bar.
Flavorful Display
You speak through your choices of ingredients and preparation techniques, and you rarely misjudge a party's mood. You serve the right meats with the right veggies with the right spices, and of course, with the right wine.
Whenever you make a skill check to cook a meal, you can add double your Charisma Modifier to the roll. Additionally, you are proficient with Cook's Utensils if you aren't already, and you make all checks with Cook's Utensil's with Expertise.
You are also Proficient in understanding Dinner Slang.
Comfort Food
Food has the power to give people strength and push them to their limits. At level 3, whenever you take a short rest, you can use your culinary know-how to put some pep back in the party's step. If you spend a Bardic Inspiration to use Song of Rest, the value healed is doubled. Also, you can choose any number of your remaining Bardic Inspirations and distribute them to a number of creatures sharing the short rest with you equal to the number or Bardic Inspirations you are choosing to use (for expample, if you have 3 uses, you can select up to three individuals partaking in your meal to gain inspiration). Inspiration given out at a short rest lasts until the next long rest, or until the creature falls unconscious.
Additionally, you gain access to spells to assist you in your meal prep. At level 3, you know the spell Goodberry and can cast it as a ritual with no material components. This does not count towards your Bard Spells known. At level 6, you learn Create Water and Food (same rules apply), and at level 14, you learn Heroes Feast.
Comfort Food (Improvement)
You have honed your culinary knowledge to include medicinal properties as well. At level 6, whenever you take a short rest and gain the benefits of a short rest, all who partake gain the additional effects of the spell Lesser Restoration.
Pressure Cooker
While you may lack the formal sword and shield training some may have received, your skills with a Chef's knife are nothing to scoff at. At level 6, you gain the ability to use your Cook's Utensils in battle. Your Utensils are considered Finesse, and attack rolls with your Utensils are made with either Dexterity or Strength as your modifier, adding your proficiency. Damage for all Utensils is 1d6+Str/Dex (must be the same modifier as the attack roll), and are magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances.
Additionally, you can choose to don your cooking vessels as armor for a short time. As an action, you can add your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) to your AC for the next 10 minutes, or until you willingly remover your armor. The armor functions as Heavy armor, and you cannot use this feature if you are currently wearing Heavy Armor.
Down-Home Cooking
While the road brings many adventures, you are most comfortable behind your own stove. At level 14, you can pick a location (mobile or stationary) to be considered your Home Kitchen. When in your Home Kitchen, you gain the following benefits:
- Advantage on Culinary checks made with Charisma
- Advantage on Attack Rolls with Utensils
- Unlimited supply of usable Improvised weapons.
Additionally, the location of your Home Kitchen gives you increased benefits.
Meals on Wheels
You like to bring your Home Kitchen with you, wherever you go. This can be a wagon, cart, balloon, or any other method of transportation large enough to house a kitchen. When in your Mobile Home Kitchen, you gain the Extra Attack feature, as well as the comfort of knowing your griddle is mere yards away.
Stationary Kitchen
Your Home Kitchen is safe on the ground, either in a bar, restaurant, house, mansion, palace, or food court. When in your Stationary Home Kitchen, you gain the added benefit of Advantage on all Saving throws.

Posted Apr 23, 2022Flavorful Display will give almost instant mastery at cooking. Cha +4 isn't crazy for a PC, with a +4 Proficiency...doubling both of these right off the bat for everyone is a +16....right out the gate. I understand its just cooking, but you might as well just say you can pass any cooking check you want for the rest of the game, don't even bother rolling because it'll be pointless.
