Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

You have found the purpose of your rage. You rage is most useful when you are suffering, when you are acting as a pincushion in the stead of your allies. If suffering a little bit of pain means your friends will suffer less then so be it. You will channel your rage to make the best use of your defenses and your strengths, filling in for those around you who maybe could not afford to take the hits that you can.

Going down the Path of the Masochist unlocks skills that become active upon taking damage or suffering a negative condition. The outcome of the damage taken can be a blessing to your allies or the bane of your enemies. This subclass opens up the Barbarian to have more support abilities than usual. Although it does still provide for opportunities of massive damage output.

Gouge

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can gouge yourself while raging to do a number of things. As a bonus action, you can choose to do 1d4, 1d6, or 1d8 damage to yourself. Choosing 1d4 gives you advantage one Charisma check you make in the next minute. Choosing 1d6 allows you to take the Dash action for this bonus. Choosing 1d8 grants you a second reaction to use before the start of your next turn. All can be used to deal damage to yourself to stay enraged. You can also choose to use this bonus action to simultaneously activate your rage if you are not already raging, however doing so causes all attack rolls made against you before the start of your next turn to be made at advantage.

Reckless Feint

Beginning at 6th level, you can use your bonus action to open yourself up for attacks. Until the start of your next turn, you get -1 AC and the first attack made against you is an automatic critical hit. All of the damage you take, before your next turn, gets added to your pain pool. During your next turn, you must take the at least 1 attack action. For that attack you may subtract any amount from your pain pool and add it to your attack roll; you can choose this amount after you see the result of your roll, but before you know whether or not you hit your target. Upon a successful hit, add any remaining amount in from your pain pool to your damage roll. Regardless of whether you hit or miss, you end your turn with an empty pain pool.

You have 1 use of Reckless Feint, you regain all uses after completing a short or long rest.

The number of uses goes up to 2 at 14th level.

Pain Transfer

At 10th level you can harness the pain you suffer through the use of blood curdling wails that can either damage or heal a target of your choice. When you take damage while you are raging, you can use a reaction to either perform the Wail of Vengeance, or the Wail of the Martyr.

The Wail of Vengeance allows you to choose 1 creature that can either see or hear you and is within 60 ft. That creature loses hit points equal to half of the damage you took.

The Wail of the Martyr allows you to choose 1 creature that you could see within the last minute and is within 60 ft. That creature regains hit points equal to half of the damage you took.

When you use this reaction, you must succeed a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of your next turn. You can perform this reaction even if the damage you take is enough to knock you unconscious.

Status Mirror

Whenever you are raging and become blinded, charmed, deafened, fatigued, incapacitated, paralyzed, petrified, poisoned, prone, or stunned, due to a creature or effect that is not yourself, you can automatically choose a number of creatures equal to your Constitution modifier (a minimum of one) that you have seen in the last minute to also become affected by the same status condition, as long as they are not immune. Additionally, if a creature within 5 ft. of you were to be affected by one of those status conditions, you may use a reaction to become affected by it instead of them, if it is not already targeting you as well. If you do this you can instantly use this feature to spread the condition.
