Monk
Base Class: Monk

Created by the monk Jun Fan, the way of the intercepting fist focuses on breaking an opponent's flow.  Defeating them before they have a chance to strike.

Interception

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, if an enemy prepares to attack you, you may spend 1 ki point to use your reaction to take an attack of opportunity on them if they are within range.  If your attack lands, they have disadvantage on their attack roll.

Ever Ready

starting when you choose this tradition at third level, you are always alert and ready for enemies. You have advantage on Initiative rolls, and cannot be surprised. You may also treat your bonus action as a second reaction

Flow Like Water

At 6th level, you are prepared to receive enemy attacks and re-purpose their momentum. When you hit by an AOE spell or enemy melee strike, you may spend 2 ki points to halve the damage and move out of the range of attack.  this does not consume your movement and this movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Economy of Movement

Beginning at 11th level, as a free action you may trade 2 ki points to get an extra reaction in a single round.

You may also use a bonus action with your held action if you have not already used it.

Explosive speed

At 17th level, you gain the ability to spend 3 ki points during the FIRST round of combat after initiative to change your turn order to earlier, before any one enemy in your walking range.  You must then use your movement to close with and engage that enemy.  If you select an enemy that is after your normal turn order, you will simply go on your normal turn.

Decisive Strike

If you make your normal attack before any enemies have their turn, and you land your first attack, you may add your dexterity and your initiative roll to the damage of your first strike and it is a critical hit.  This can be done 1 time per long rest.
