Bard
Base Class: Bard

Paper is such a versatile and potential filled material. With a few bends a sheet can become a bird, some lines can turn some paper into a song, a word and it becomes a tale. Paper is potential, blank and limitless. Bards of the College of the Fold can see that potential and, through magic and wit, turn it into whatever they so envision with ease. More than that, what they create can often become more real than what others may be able to manage.

The versatility of paper shows through these bards, their own versatility allowing them to fill many different niches; criminals creating flawless forgeries, magicians and swindlers performing impossible feats with their cards, or simply notarizers and beaurocratic department members.

Original Forgery

3rd-level College of the Fold feature

You gain proficiency with calligrapher's supplies and with forgery kit and can double your proficiency for checks made involving these tools.

The time and gold required for you to create or help create a spell scroll is halved.

Pseudo Note

3rd-level College of the Fold feature

Your forgeries must be able to keep up with your wit, to this end you have learnt some minor magics to further control your stationery. As an action, you can change the appearance of any ink on a piece of paper or card in your hand. This can include any writing, images, or blots of ink. You cannot change any other medium, such as paint or charcoal, and cannot change the physical appearance of the paper.

Another creature may determine the paper has been magically changed with an Wisdom (Insight) check against your Charisma (Forgery Kit) check.

Mache

6th-level College of the Fold feature

Your control of paper now allows you to create objects and creatures in good likeness. As an action, you can create a weapon, object, or creature. You can only have one of each created at any one time (one weapon, one object, and one creature at a time). Whatever is created lasts up to a number of hours equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) or until you dismiss it as a bonus action.

When you create a weapon, you decide what it appears as, you are proficienct with it, it deals damage equal to your Bardic Inspiration die of a damage type suitable for the form it takes, and has the finesse, light, and thrown properties (range 20/60).

When you create an object, you create an inanimate object in your hand or on the ground in an unoccupied space that you can see within 10 feet of you. This object can be no larger than 3 feet on a side and weigh no more than 10 pounds, and its form must be that of a nonmagical object that you have seen. The object is clearly made of paper.

When you create a creature, you cast the find familiar spell without requiring material components. When you cast the spell this way, the familiar is a construct instead of a beast, and the familiar disappears at the end of this feature's duration.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses at the end of a long rest.

Scroll Scrawl

14th-level College of the Fold feature

Paper would never betray you, as it might others, and you are able to infuse your power into even the most brittle of papers. You can cast a spell on a spell scroll even if the spell is not a Bard spell, and can use your Bard spell save DC and spell attack bonus in place of the scroll's.

You can cast spells from spell scrolls a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier before the scroll is consumed. After casting from a scroll once, any other creature that tries to cast from that scroll immediately fails and the scroll crumbles to dust.
