Base Class: Sorcerer
Your innate magic was granted to you by an Elder Tempest. You were born during a cataclysmic event of such proportions that it is not seen but once in a generation. The magic of this event permeates your being allowing you to bring chaos into the world. As you nurture and grow this magic you can feel yourself transforming into a new tempest.
Call of the Storm
At level 1, add Primordial and Auran to your list of known languages. Due to the source of your power, you are unable to learn or cast fire, poison, or acid damage spells.
Gale Step
Starting at 1st level, you can use a bonus action on your turn to cause whirling gusts of elemental air to briefly surround you, immediately before or after you cast a spell of 1st level or higher. Doing so allows you to fly up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks. This distance increases by five feet at level 6, 11, and 16.
Spider Lightning
When you cast any 1st level storm based spell, you cause a brief eruption of chaos at the point of impact. This eruption causes creatures of your choice that you can see within 5 feet to take lightning or thunder damage (choose each time this ability activates) equal to half your sorcerer level plus your charisma modifier.
Tempest Spirit
At 6th level, you gain the ability to subtly control the weather around you.
For example. If it is raining, you can use an action to cause the rain to stop falling in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on you. You can end this effect as a bonus action. Or if it is windy, you can use a bonus action each round to choose the direction that the wind blows in a 100-foot-radius sphere centered on you. The wind blows in that direction until the end of your next turn. This feature doesn't alter the speed of the wind.
Cloud Shape
You gain a magical flying speed of 60 feet and the ability to hover. As an action, you can reduce your flying speed to 30 feet for 1 hour and choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. The chosen creatures gain a magical flying speed of 30 feet for 1 hour. Once you reduce your flying speed in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
Storm Cloak
At level 18, you can feel the tempest spirit inside of you mature and begin to burst forth from your body. You are now constantly surrounded by gale force winds and sparks of lightning. You are immune to lightning and thunder damage and ranged attacks are made with disadvantage against you.
Raging Tempest
Once per day, you can summon forth the tempest spirit inside of you to maim your enemies with a screaming gale. After casting this ability you pass out from exhaustion and must complete a long rest before waking up.
Screaming Gale: The tempest releases a blast of lightning, thunder, and wind in a 1000 ft. sphere around you. Enemies in that area take 27 (6d8) thunder damage. Each creature must succeed on a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw or take 54 (12d8) lightning damage and be flung up to 60 feet in a direction away from the center. If save is successful, only take half damage. If a thrown target collides with an immovable object, such as a wall or floor, the target takes 3 (1d6) bludgeoning damage for every 10 feet it was thrown before impact. If the target would collide with another creature instead, that other creature must succeed on a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or take the same bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone.
