Bard
Base Class: Bard

True art is everlasting. Knowledge can be forgotten. Songs and words can be jumbled. Physical art is eternal however. Bards who follow the College of Threads specialize in a form of everlasting art known as Puppeteering. They are known as Strings. By using magical threads they can control their puppets and even small objects.

Strings travel down the road of Entertainment and Adventuring. Some seek to entertain people with their puppet shows. Others find it convenient to easily snatch a bag of coins. Despite being a master of attachment, Strings can’t be easily tied down and are free spirits who travel the land.

Due to the College members tending to get in trouble they have added a secret defense for all their members. Hidden weapons inside their puppets. Making the bond between the Puppeteer and the Puppet a unbreakable thread. The Puppet defends the  Puppeteer and in return the Puppeteer gives the Puppet life through art.

Mana Threads

Through a secret technique taught only to members of the College, you can generate Threads made of magic out of your fingers. They have a variety of uses

Attachment: by attaching a thread to a object you can control a object weighing less then 6 pounds. The object floats however you want. Make it dance. Make it float. Reel it in. Smack someone with it. If you choose to make an attack with a object that is not an actual weapon then make a improvised weapon attack. If it is a weapon then roll normally but with no damage modifiers. You can control as many objects as you have fingers. You need free hands in order to use your Mana Threads.

Reach: you have a initial reach of 15 feet. At 5th level it turns to 20 feet. At 7th level it turns to 25 feet. At 9th level it turns to 30 feet. And lastly at 11th level it reaches 35 feet.

Wrap: you can make grapple checks on medium sized or smaller creatures with your Mana Threads. Instead of athletics use performance. For this is not a backstreet skirmish but an art form!

Puppet

The appearance of your puppet is up to you. Perhaps it’s based off a dead lover. Maybe it’s modeled after a dragon. It’s your art piece it’s your call. It can be anywhere between small and Medium. It also hides a assortment of weaponry in it.  If damaged you will need to take a short rest for minor injuries but a long rest if the injuries are major. If you loose your puppet you can spend 2 long rests crafting a new one.

When using the puppet you are incapable of casting any spells that require Somatic and Material components. You may use your action to attack with the Puppet or make it move. You can use your bonus action to move it at half speed if you didn’t choose to move it with your normal action. The puppets movement speed is based on your string length.
