Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The Serpent has his own religion and states that he grants his priests their spells. In reality the Sons of The Serpent are all Warlocks that have made pacts with the Serpent. The more powerful these warlocks get, the more they look like their master’s serpentine visage. The Serpent does not tolerate apostates and sends servants to kill those who try to leave his “church”.

Tail of the Serpent

Starting at 1st level, you learn the thorn whip cantrip, which counts as a warlock cantrip for you. You also have advantage on saving throws against any poison. Additionally you may cast Speak with Animals as a ritual without a ritual book but only with Serpents.

Serpent Strike

At 6th level, you grow a tail and learn to strike back at your foes. When a creature makes an attack roll against you and misses, you can use your reaction to make a melee attack against that creature or cast the thorn whip cantrip against that creature. You cannot use this ability again until you finish a short rest. Additionally, your tail may be used in place of the material or somatic component of thorn whip. When used this way, you may change the range of thorn whip to touch instead of 30 feet when you cast it.

Serpentine Resistance

At 10th level, you gain advantage on saving throws against spells. Casters who are higher level than you ignore this resistance.

Serpent’s Armor

Starting at 14th level, your skin mottles into scales granting you +5 natural armor. You new scaley skin also allows you to subtract 3 from the damage of bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing weapon attacks. You lose the benefit of this class ability if you wear armor although you may still use a shield.
