Base Class: Barbarian
Big and brutish, prized above your average henchmen by mages and Crimelords alike as body guards and hired muscle. The life of a Goon is usually extremely violent and often just as short, not many Goons live past their species prime. Your rage is your greatest advantage and has kept you alive since childhood, that and your brute strength coupled with ingenuity, and street smarts.
Practiced Intimidation
Beginning at 10th level, you can use your action to frighten someone with your menacing presence. You have advantage on intimidation checks against creatures you can see within 30 ft of you. You also can take your action to instill the fear condition in intimidated enemies until the end of your next turn.
Thieves Cant
During your time in the criminal underworld you learned thieves’ cant, a secret mix of dialect, jargon, and code that allows you to hide messages in seemingly normal conversation. Only another creature that knows thieves’ cant understands such messages. It takes four times longer to convey such a message than it does to speak the same idea plainly.
In addition, you understand a set of secret signs and symbols used to convey short, simple messages, such as whether an area is dangerous or the territory of a thieves’ guild, whether loot is nearby, or whether the people in an area are easy marks or will provide a safe house for thieves on the run.
Merciless Strike
Your years on the streets have taught you to strike without mercy, and end the fight as fast as possible, starting at 3rd level you know where to hit your enemy to maximize damage and injury. When you hit with a weapon you are proficient with and deal damage your weapon damage is increased based on your Goon level.
3rd- 1d4, 7th- 1d6, 14th- 1d8, 20th- 1d10
Street Brawler
• You are proficient with all improvised weapons.
• When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or improvised weapon on your turn, you can use a bonus action to attempt to grapple the target.
Preemptive Strike
Your time being a goon has taught you that acting first and acting violently often leads to not dying. At 14th level if you are the first to attack, before rolling initiative, you gain advantage on that attack roll and if you hit it counts as a critical hit, the target suffers the stunned effect as well for the first round of combat.
Unarmed Attack
At 3rd level you are proficient with your feet and fists, your unarmed attacks deal 1d4 + STR modifier.
