Base Class: Warlock
You were caught in the forest the night his wild, fey dogs came howling across the night sky. You knew at once it were the wild hunt, long thought to presage some catastrophe such as war or plague, an omen of doom across the land. He came with them, his ram's horn sounding like a banshee through the trees. The baying hounds caught you in the open as you ran, chasing you through the dark trees until your lungs felt like they would burst. You cried for mercy as the lord of the hunt came through the ring of mist-like hounds to stand before you. He smelled of the wild lands, and the fire in his expression immediately convinced you of your doom. But he pulled his great bow from his shoulder and tapped you on the forehead, telling you that you were to be a part of his plan. You were to be an instrument through whom he would perform his work among the men of this world.
Expanded Spell List
Through your bargain with the Lord of the Wild Hunt, you are granted an expanded list of spells that deal with animals and the hunt.
1st level - Animal Friendship, Hunter's Mark
2nd level - Animal Messenger, Locate Animals or Plants
3rd level - Conjure Animals, Flame Arrows
4th level - Conjure Woodland Beings, Freedom of Movement
5th level - Commune With Nature, Tree Stride
Bound to the Wild
Beginning at 1st level, you are able to establish a bond with one beast you touch that is friendly to you. This bond will only work with a creature that has an intelligence that is 4 or lower. This connection with a creature will last until you are incapacitated, or until you take a long rest. As long as you are within 120 feet of the creature, it can understand your telepathic messages to it, and it can telepathically communicate simple emotions and concepts back to you. While the link is active, the beast gains advantage on attack rolls against any creature within 5 feet of you that you can see.
See What I See, Hear What I Hear
Beginning at 6th level, when you establish a bond with a beast, you can now use your action to see through the beast’s eyes and hear what it hears, and you can continue to do so until you use your action to return to your normal senses. You will also feel the urges that are felt by the beast, such as hunger and the need to hunt. This deepening bond also begins to affect your own senses, and you now have advantage on survival or perception checks that have to do with seeing, smelling or hearing.
Become One With the Hunt
The Wild Hunt has begun to boil in your blood as the animal world calls out to you. Starting at 10th level, you begin to take on changes similar to those encountered by someone who has been "cursed" with lycanthropy. Choose one of the following animals that will become the animal that represents what calls to your spirit: Bear, Wolf, Fox, or Wolverine. Once per long rest, you can polymorph into your animal for 10 minutes. You retain your intelligence, wisdom and charisma abilities, but take on the strength, dexterity and constitution of the chosen animal. Any damage suffered while in this form is not counted against your own hit points, until it exceeds that of the animal form and you revert back to your human form.
- Bear - You permanently gain an advantage to any constitution saving throws.
- Wolf - You permanently gain an advantage to all perception ability checks that involve smell or hearing.
- Fox - You permanently gain an advantage to all investigation ability checks that involve smell or hearing.
- Wolverine - You permanently gain an advantage to all intimidation checks.
The Wild Hunter
You have fully embraced the animal nature within you. Starting at 14th level, you can take on your animal form once per short rest, and maintain the form for up to an hour if you don't take too much damage. You also have an affinity with other animals in the wild, and can sense all creatures that are not of a magical essence, that are within ½ of a mile of you. Also, once per long rest, you can cast the Conjure Woodland Beings spell without using a spell slot, even if you do not currently know this spell.
