Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Spellcrafters make use of their opponents powers to expand their arsenal beyond that of an average arcane caster. What they lack in consistency across the various Arcane Traditions, they more than make up for it with the variety of options they bring to the table through a combination sheer versatility and potent counter casting.

Analysts Eye

Starting at 2nd level, when you first adopt this arcane tradition, your observations of casting processes allows you to recreate spells otherwise unknown to you. When you are the target of a spell, or if a spell is seen being cast within 30ft of you. You can use your reaction to make an Intelligence (Arcana) check against the target's spell save DC or whatever modifier they used to activate the ability. If you succeed, you identify the spell being cast, how much damage it does, what effects it has, and what level it is/what level it was cast at.

During your next long rest, you can add copy any number of these spells to your spellbook provided you have the time and resources required to do so. Any spells you don't add are lost upon completing a long rest.

Master of Magic

Regardless of origin, magic is magic and you can harness all of it

Starting at 2nd level, whenever you find a scroll or other magic item that lets you cast a spell, you can make a Arcana check (DC 10 + the spell level) to copy that spell into your spell book, regardless whether or not it's on the wizard spell list.

If it is a wizard spell, the time and gold cost are the same as normal, but if the spell comes from another class list, the gold and time required to do so are doubled.

Refined Dispelling

Beginning at 6th level, you have optimized your ability to dispel magic.

You add the dispel magic spell to your spellbook if you don't have it already. Additionally, whenever you cast the spell can add your proficiency bonus to the ability check made as part of casting the spell.

Enhanced Counterspell

In the process of breaking down a spell, you can analyse the remnants and add them to our spellbook
Starting at 10th level, you add the counterspell spell to your spellbook if you do not have it already.

When you successfully negate a spell with counterspell, you can make a Spellcraft check to immediately add it to your spellbook. Spells Added to your spellbook in this way art the same as if you had copied them in yourself and can be prepared and cast like any other spell.

Master of Spellcraft

At 14th level, your Arcane Spellcraft has reached utmost perfection. When you collect a spell using your Analysts Eye feature, as part of the same reaction, you can immediately cast the spell at the level it was cast at without spending a spell slot.

When you release a spell or ability in this way, you can't make another attempt to analyse a spell until the end of your next turn.
