Base Class: Cleric
The Divided Domain is a particularly dangerous domain gifted by Hel, goddess of Death. Clerics who live this life are able to switch their healing magic into something very dangerous instead. This powerful destruction magic is cast through a deep and dark personality that dwells just beneath the surface of the usually friendly face of a cleric.
Split Soul
When choosing this domain at 1st level, a dark, fiery side begins to dwell within you. At a moment’s notice, this side fights to the surface and completely changes your personality. Your hair fades to a dim grey , white or black and your eyes completely turn to one colour. The switch can be triggered by a sound, an action or even happen out of blue, with no discernible trigger. Some have a stronger control of their darkside than others. Your light personality is referred to Vita Form and your dark personality is referred to as Mortem Form.
As a bonus action, you can switch between your Vita and Mortem forms. While in your Mortem form, any time you would heal a creature using a spell, you damage the creature instead.
Channel Divinity: Snap Shift
Starting at 2nd level, you can use your channel divinity to quickly shift forms and change the tide of battle.
While in Vita Form:
If a creature you can see within 30ft would be healed, as a reaction, you can instantly swap to your Mortem form, and cause the healing to deal damage instead.
While in Mortem Form:
If a creature you can see within 30ft would take damage, as a reaction, you can instantly swap to your Vita form, and cause the damage to heal the creature instead.
Changing Presence
Starting at 6th level, your two personalities begin to dictate other aspects of your life, not just in battle.
While in Vita Form:
You gain advantage on medicine and survival checks.
While in Mortem Form:
You gain advantage on intimidation and deception checks.
Divine Strike
At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with divine energy. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage to the target while in Vita Form; or 1d8 necrotic damage while in Mortem Form. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.
Life and Death
At 17th level, you combine your Vita and Mortem forms to work as one for a brief moment. As an action, create a sphere with a radius of 35ft in a space you can see within 30ft. Allies that end their turn within the area regain 2d10 hit points. Enemies that end their turn within the area take 2d10 necrotic damage.
