Monk
Base Class: Monk

Not all monks find fulfilment in the pursuit of personal power. For some, true mastery is gained by teaching others in the traditions, in sharing the beautiful Path with others, and deepening their own understanding. Members of this tradition spring out of all other traditions, choosing to help forge virtuous students to impact the world in their stead. Many of those who have gone this way create new temples, attracting new followers and creating disciples among them, the birth of a new Path must always begin with a Sensei. Beware, however, as this path is not exclusive to those altruistic. There have been many a Sensei hidden in shadow, training others in the martial arts to gain subtle dominance over politics, trade, and power.

Convincing Evangelist

Beginning at 3rd level, your willingness to teach inspires others to trust you more easily. You gain proficiency in the Persuasion skill.

Strike, Strike, Strike!

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain the ability to give strength to allies instead of attacking. On your turn, whenever you take the Attack action you can forgo any number of attacks in order to command your allies to strike. For each attack, choose an ally that can see or hear you within 60ft. On their next turn they make an additional weapon attack as part of the Attack action. Additionally, you can lend your insight to your allies by infusing your mind with ki. If you spend a ki point as part of using this ability, any ally affected by this ability may add your martial arts die to the attack, or damage roll of the granted attacks.

You may use the ki portion of this ability a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1), regaining all uses after completing a long rest.

Shared Ki Flow

At 6th level, your ki begins to flow more easily to your students, and your connection deepens. You gain new ways to use your ki abilities:

When you use the ki ability Step of the Wind you may also choose a number of creatures equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum 1) than can see or hear you within 60ft. Those creatures can use their reaction to immediately travel up to half its speed. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks. Once a creature has been affected by this ability, it must complete a short rest before it can do so again.

When you use Flurry of Blows, you can grant an ally within 5ft of you Advantage on the first attack against each creature you attacked using this ability. This bonus lasts until the end of your next turn.

Eyes of the Sensei

Beginning at 11th level, you learn to keenly spot when a student needs your assistance. When an ally that you can see within 60ft of you rolls a saving throw against an effect that you can see, you can use your reaction to give that ally a bonus to their roll equal to your Wisdom modifier, as you give insights into how they can resist whatever is affecting them.

Once you have used this ability on an ally, you cannot use this ability on them again until you complete a short rest, as your teachings are already at the forefront of their mind.

Shining Student

At 17th level your experience allows you to reach new heights of focused tutoring. If you spend 7 days training with a willing creature, you may designate them as your Shining Student. This grants multiple benefits. If you designate a new creature as your Shining Student, this effect ends on the previous creature.

Your Strike, Strike, Strike! and Eyes of the Sensei features can be used an unlimited number of times on your Shining Student.

Additionally, if your Shining Student is within 5ft of you, you do not have to spend ki points for them to benefit from the bonus ability of Strike, Strike, Strike!

If you are within 5ft of your Shining Student whenever you use the Step of the Wind ki ability, they can use their reaction to choose to move with you up to their speed. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
