Base Class: Barbarian
Some warriors follow paths of pure anger. Others turn to alternative sources for their strength. Only the most dedicated and power-hungry would become everything they are fighting in order to wrest that power from the very creatures they are hunting. Those that choose to walk that path follow the path of the monster.
Monster's Skin
At 3rd level, when you choose to follow this path, you choose which monster's abilities you would like to take for yourself. You must take a trophy from the monster whose abilities you are trying to get and keep it on your person at all times. This trophy determines the abilities you will gain from this class in the future. The monsters from which you can choose are listed here.
Displacer Beast
While raging, creatures that rely on sight have disadvantage to hit you with attacks. If you take damage or are incapacitated, this trait is disrupted until the end of your next turn.
Hydra
While raging, at the start of your turn, if you have less than half your maximum hit points, you regain hit points equal to your barbarian level. You do not gain this benefit if you took fire damage since your last turn.
Rhemorhaz
While raging, you have resistance to fire damage and cold damage. The skin of the Remorhaz is highly resistant to extreme temperatures.
Monster's Fangs
At 6th level, your bond with your trophy deepens and you begin the process of becoming more like the monster you are hunting. This manifests in different ways, depending on the path you are following.
Displacer Beast
While raging, increase your reach for your melee weapon attacks by 5 feet.
Hydra
You gain the ability to use your bite as natural weapons in place of your unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d10 + your Strength modifier. While raging, you can use a bonus action to make a melee weapon attack with your bite.
Rhemorhaz
While raging, each creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes 1d6 extra fire damage.
Monster's Feast
At 10th level, you gain the voracious hunger of those unnatural creatures that drives them to hunt the less ferocious. While taking a short rest, you can spend time feasting on the meat of freshly-killed prey. If you do, treat any dice rolled to determine the hit points you regain as having rolled their maximum value for you. In addition, at the end of your short rest, you become immune to being frightened for the next 8 hours.
Monster's Mastery
At 14th level, you have become one with your monster. When something angers you, you no longer respond as who you were, but as if you were yourself a monster. How depends on the monster whose skin you now wear.
Displacer Beast
While raging, if you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a saving throw to take only half damage, you take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw and only half if you fail.
Hydra
While raging, if you have taken damage equal to or greater than a quarter of your maximum hit points since your last turn, if you take the Attack action on your turn, you can make an additional weapon attack.
Rhemorhaz
While raging, each creature within 5 feet of you that hits you with a melee attack takes 1d6 fire damage and 1d6 cold damage.
