Base Class: Rogue
From within the thin grey line that separates light and shadow, there come those that choose to walk in the narrow paths between. Their cause is beyond good and evil, but often find themselves walking the path of the dark side but for good, or doing good for selfish reasons. These roguish types are often untrustworthy and reliable both at once. When these folk gain their power from the darkness itself, they are said to be walking in shadows.
Shadow Stride
At 3rd level, when you are in an area of dim light or darkness, when you make a Dexterity (Stealth) check, you become invisible until you are in an area of bright light, are discovered, or you stop hiding.
Walking Shadow
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to move your shadow independently of yourself. While you are in an area of dim light or darkness, as an action, you can detach your shadow from yourself for 1 minute. It starts in an unoccupied space 5 feet from you. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move your shadow up to 30 feet to a space you can see, but it must remain within 120 feet from you. Your shadow counts as an ally for the purposes of your Sneak Attack feature. This shadow disappears if the shadow is ever in an area of bright light.
Shadow Sense
Beginning at 9th level, you gain the ability to sense movement even while in pitch darkness. As an action on your turn, you can open your senses to your surroundings, granting you tremorsense within 30 feet for 1 minute.
You regain the ability to use this feature after you finish a short or long rest.
Shadow Binding
At 13th level, you gain the ability to command your shadow to halt the movements of your prey. As a bonus action on your turn, you can have your shadow enter the space of an enemy. That enemy must make a Dexterity saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency modifier + your Dexterity modifier. On a failed save, its speed is 0 until the end of your next turn.
Shadow Strike
At 17th level, you have gained ultimate mastery of your shadow, and it can help you take out your prey. When you use the Attack action to make a melee weapon attack, you can use a bonus action on your turn to have your shadow make a melee weapon attack against an enemy. Its attack bonus and damage are equal to yours, other than any bonuses granted by magical items. This attack can benefit from your Sneak Attack even if you have already used it this turn.
