Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Your power draws from the immortal flame that fuels the legendary phoenix. You or your ancestors perhaps rendered a phoenix a great service, or you were born in its presence. Whatever the cause, a shard of the phoenix’s power dwells within you.

That power is a mixed blessing. Like the mythical creature, you can invoke fiery energy and gain the ability to cheat death itself. This power comes at a cost. The fire within you seethes, demanding to be unleashed. You sometimes find yourself absentmindedly feeding fires. You can’t bear to allow a fire to sputter out. You feel most comfortable while holding a lit torch or sitting in front of a campfire.

Such sorcerers are wanderers by necessity. The volatile nature of their magic makes other folk nervous. If a fire breaks out in town, a phoenix sorcerer had best flee, whether guilty or not. Fire is a dangerous force, and phoenix sorcerers have a reputation (deserved or not) for reckless behavior, confident that the essence of the phoenix can save them.

Soul of Embers

As magic flows through your body, the eternal flame of the phoenix nourishes your body. At 1st level, your hit point maximum increases by 1 and increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level in this class.

Additionally, you gain resistance to fire damage.

Flame-Touched

Your soul is attuned to flame, granting you a limited control of flames. You learn the produce flame and control flames cantrips. These spells do not count toward your known cantrips limit.

Embers of Life

Starting at 6th level, when you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can add your Charisma modifier to one damage roll of that spell. When you expend a spell slot to cast a spell that includes a fire damage roll, you regain hit points equal to the slot's level + your Charisma modifier.

Radiant Plumage

At 14th level, you gain the ability to sprout a pair of flaming wings wings from your back, gaining a flying speed equal to your current speed. You can create these wings as a bonus action on your turn. They last until you dismiss them as a bonus action on your turn.

If you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to draw on the spark of the phoenix. You are instead reduced to 1 hit point, and each creature of your choice within 10 feet of you takes fire damage equal to half your sorcerer level + you Charisma modifier. You then immediately regain a number of hit points equal to half the damage dealt.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Incarnation of Incandescence

Beginning at 18th level, you can channel the fiery splendor of you phoenix soul, causing your flames to burst forth with realized potential. As an action, you can spend 5 sorcery points to draw on this power and create a halo of flame visible to a distance of 60 feet. For 1 minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were casting a concentration spell), you can add half your sorcerer level to the damage of all spells that include a fire damage roll. Additionally, you gain immunity to fire damage and resistance to all other damage types.
