Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Path of the Devout is an existence that is meaningful and rewarding with almost any deity. You are their fist and weapon on the Material plane. In reward, you are given some divine powers to accompany your gifted athletic and warrior abilities to destroy the enemies of your diety.

Channel Divinity

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to channel divine energy directly from your deity, using that energy to fuel magical effects. You have a channel divinity option called, “Turn Undead.”

When you use your Channel Divinity, if you have multiple options from other classes, you choose which effect to create, but do not gain additional uses. You must then finish a short or long rest to use your Channel Divinity again.

Some Channel Divinity effects require saving throws. When you use such an effect from this class, the DC equals your Barbarian spell save DC.

Bonus Proficiency

You gain proficiency in Religion.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your barbaric prowess with the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the cleric spell list.

Cantrips

You learn three cantrips of your choice from the cleric spell list. You learn an additional cleric cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Devout Barbarian Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your cleric spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell shieldand have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast shield using either slot.

Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher

You know three 1st-level cleric spells of your choice.

The Spells Known column of the Devout Barbarian Spellcasting table shows when you learn more cleric spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the cleric spells you know with another spell of your choice from the cleric spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.

Spellcasting Ability

Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your cleric spells, since you learn your spells through your deity and devotion. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a wizard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Blinding Halo

When you activate your rage, a blinding halo appears above your head. A number of creatures of your choice, up to or equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1), must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or be blinded for 1 minute. At the end of each of their turns, they may make the save again to end the affect on themselves early.

This halo remains above your head as long as you’re enraged. It sheds bright light 15 feet and dim light another 15 feet. This light is considered sunlight.

Undead and Fiends have disadvantage on the saving throw for this feature.

Holy Blessing

Because of your devotion, your deity blesses you with the gifts when you are fulfilling their wishes. When you enter into a rage, choose one cleric spell of level 1 or 2 that has a duration between 1-10 minutes. When you go into a rage and while you are enraged, this spell is considered to be cast and in effect without any need to maintain concentration, material, verbal, or somatic components. You still need to spend the appropriate spell slot and can be upcasted as normal.

Divine Strikes

You gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with divine energy. Every time you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage to the target. This damage increases to 2d8 while raging.
