Base Class: Monk
This martial arts tradition is based on and inspired by Pattram Sword Hand from the webcomic Kill Six Billion Demons by Tom Parkinson-Morgan.
A halfling cuts down her adversary only to see another standing over her, his axe raised to strike. She moves with sudden speed, cleaving the man in two with her bare hands. A dwarf falls to his knees beneath the onslaught his companion unleashes, unseen blades indiscriminately ripping apart friend and foe alike. A general stares in horror as his army vanishes in a spray of their own blood, the monster responsible slowly approaching him, not a single a bloodstain on them.
The Way of Sword Hand is a school devoted entirely to the act of killing. It is a style focused on turning the edges of blows into precise instruments to cleave through armor, flesh, and bone. It's one weakness is the drain on a user's ki. If a practitioner does not kill their enemy swiftly, they will find themselves too weak to even move. Masters of the style have been known to slaughter battlefields to reach their target. Little more needs to be said on its effectiveness at parting men from their ghosts.
Bladed Palms
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you sharpen your blows to a razor edge. You gain the following traits:
- Whenever you make an unarmed attack, you do slashing damage instead of bludgeoning damage.
- You cannot choose to do non-lethal damage when you bring a creature to 0 hit points.
- When you use Step of the Wind you may make one unarmed attack as a part of your bonus action.
- if you have 0 ki points and make an attack, make a Constitution saving throw against your ki DC. If you fail, you gain one point of exhaustion.
Turn the Edge
At 6th level, you become a skilled master of striking enemies down before they can strike at you. Once per round if you would be attacked with a melee attack you may spend 1 ki point to make one unarmed attack as a reaction. The number of attacks increases to 2 at 11th level and to 3 at 17th level. These attacks happen before the attack against you. You must finish a long rest before you use this feature again, or you may spend 1 ki point to regain this feature immediately.
Wind of Oblivion
At 11th level, you gain the ability to annihilate everything around you. As an action you may spend 2 ki points to make two attacks targeting all creatures and objects within 20 feet of you. Each additional ki point spent allows one additional attack. This targets both hostile and friendly creatures alike. You must finish a long rest before you use this feature again, or you may spend 2 ki points to regain this feature immediately.
Juggernaut Star
At 17th level you achieve vicious enlightenment, submerging your conscious mind in the circular nature of violence to devastating effect. You gain the following benefits.
Love for Nothing. Add your Wisdom modifier to the damage dealt by your unarmed attacks. In addition, when you roll a 1 or a 2 on the damage dice for unarmed attacks you may re-roll the dice. You must use the new roll.
Continuous Cutting Motion. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you may move up to 5 feet and then make one unarmed attack against a creature within 5 feet of you.
