Bard
Base Class: Bard

There are many who see merchants as shady people looking only to make a profit, regardless of the cost to their customers. Whether or not this is true is beside the point, what is the point is that you're very good at what you do. There are very few who can oppose your wily charms and inticing bargains. As a bard of Mercantile, you know value when you see it, and you know how to make other people see even more value. Your sharp tongue and your clever words allow you to buy and sell with ease, and can even hold your own in combat pretty well.

Silver Tongue

Starting at 3rd level, you've become adept at saying to others exactly what they need to hear.

When you make a Charisma (Persuasion) or Charisma (Deception) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Eye for Value

Starting at 3rd level, your keen eye can determine the value of anything, and to you everything has just that little bit more value.

You learn the spell Identify, which does not count against your number of spells known. When you cast identify, you can also determine a rough estimate of the item's gold value.

Arcanic Bartering

Starting at 3rd level, your silky words allow you to barter even with your own arcane power.

You can use any magical item as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

When you finish a long rest, you can exchange a number of your known spells for other Bard spells. The spells you learn must be of a level for which you have spell slots. The number of spells you can exchange is equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).

You cannot use this feature to replace spells learned through Magical Secrets.

Barter

Starting at 6th level, your expertise in sales has reached even the most powerful beings.

When you finish a long rest, you can create a magical gold coin, called a Barter. This coin can be used in place of any one material component. If the component it is replacing has a gold value, it must be of a value less than or equal to 50 x your bard level in gold. The Barter disappears after use.

You can only have one Barter created at any one time.

Glint in your Eye

Starting at 6th level, your discerning eye can spot valuables that others may accidentally overlook.

When you find gold, in a chest or looting a body for example, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration, roll your Bardic Inspiration die, and find additional gold equal to the number rolled x 5.

You cannot use this ability if you find less than 10 gold worth of coins, nor when you receive gold as payment or reward.

But Wait, There's More

Starting at 14th level, your persuasive nature has reached even the arcane, allowing you to buy more power from outside forces.

As a bonus action, you can regain an expended spell slot of 1st level or higher. To do so, you lose an amount of gold equal to the level of the spell slot x 100.

You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier. You regain all expended uses at the end of a short rest.
