Base Class: Cleric
The Malady Domain is one that grants abilities geared towards hindering and restraining creatures and the deities that are worshiped under this domain are typically those related to justice, law, chains and curses. Clerics of this domain are usually hired or requested to guard prisons, transport of prisoners or provide support in battles against quick foes.
Divine Hold
You learn the cantrip Ray of Frost, and it doesn't count against the amount of cantrips known. All spells you cast that lower a creatures speed by any amount, now inflict the grappled condition on them unless they are Huge or bigger.
Hindering Glow
When you cast a spell that deals damage, you can cause it to make any creatures affected by it to have their speed halved when they take damage from it. This can be done a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier per long rest.
Channel Divinity: Arcing Chains
At 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to restrain creatures around you.
As an action, you present your holy symbol and release an aura of chains that spread out to 30ft around you. Every creature of your choice that you can see has to roll a Strength saving throw versus your spell save DC or be restrained until the end of your next turn.
Otherworldly Rending
At 6th level, when a creature has a condition inflicted upon them by your spells, their AC and saving throws are reduced by 2 until the end of their next turn after the condition has ended on them. This does not include Petrification or Invisiblity.
Effective Spellcasting
At 8th level, your damaging Cleric spells deal extra damage equal to your wisdom modifier once per spell casting.
Restraining Emanation
At 17th level, you can use an action and emanate an aura of malady, causing every creature of your choice within 30ft to have their speed halved until the end of your next turn. Creatures that start their turn in this aura take force damage equal to your level + your wisdom modifier and have their speed halved. This can only be used once per long rest and lasts for 1 minute.
