Base Class: Monk
Way of the Spiritualist grants you the monk abilities to empower yourself using spiritual energy, such as absorbing spiritual energy from undead creatures nearby to bolster your damage, or allow you to perform long range strikes powered by your own soul's energy.
Soul Surge
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your study of spiritualism allows you to extract spiritual energy from undead creatures. When an undead creature is within 60 ft. of you, you gain your wisdom modifier + your monk level to your damage rolls on every enemy, as if feeding from the spiritual energy nearby (minimum of 1 bonus damage).
Spiritual Strikes
At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your spiritual energy into your unarmed strikes and propel it up to 30 ft at the cost of 1 Ki point. These strikes release spiritual blasts that reach up to 30 ft allowing you to strike enemies from a distance, until the end of the round. These blasts act like your regular unarmed strikes but are long ranged.
Spectral Summoning
Beginning at 11th level, you gain the ability to spend 2 Ki points to use a bonus action that summons one apparition to your side but cannot summon anymore while one is still present. This apparition can only be summoned within 5 ft of you and it immediately follows you wherever you move.
The apparition only has 1 hit point, its AC is equal to 10 + your Wisdom modifier and cannot perform any actions, additionally the apparition is immune to opportunity attacks. However, If it is damaged by an enemy the apparition disappears and you lose your Soul Surge bonus (if activated only by its presence) at the end of the current round.
The apparition only remains for 5 rounds of combat (30 seconds; disappearing at the start of the 5th round) before you drain all of its energy and it disappears, after which you will lose your Soul Surge bonus (if activated only by its presence) at the end of the current round.
Powers of the Great Beyond
Starting at 17th level:
- Your spiritual apparition can remain for 10 rounds of combat, disappearing at the start of the 10th round (remaining for 1 minute outside of combat).
- Upon reaching 0 Hit Points if your summoned apparition is present you can sacrifice it to survive at 1 HP.
- Your Soul Strikes can reach up to 60ft if you choose to spend 2 Ki points to use them.
