College of Arcana

Test

Arcane Inspiration

At 3rd level when you join the College of Arcana, you gain proficiency in Arcana as well as your choice of History, Nature, Religion or Investigation. If you are already proficient in Arcana, choose another skill proficiency. When a creature uses your Bardic Inspiration on a spell attack, saving throw against a magical effect or Arcana check, they may roll your Bardic Inspiration die twice and take either result.

Arcane Student

You learn one cantrip of your choice from the Wizard spell list. This cantrip is considered a Bard spell for you and does not count against the number of cantrips you know. You can add your Charisma modifer to attack and damage rolls with this cantrip.

Arcane Transposition

You have crafted a book of songs which functions similarly to a wizard's spellbook. When you find a Wizard spell of 1st Level or higher that requires a verbal component you can add it to your songbook if it is of a spell level you can prepare.

Copying spells into your songbook involves reproducing the basic form of the spell, deciphering the unique system of notation used by the wizard who wrote it, and then transposing it into music. You must practice the spell until you understand the sounds required and transcribe it into your songbook using musical notes.

For each level of the spell, the process takes 4 hours and costs 100 gp. The cost represents material components you expend as you experiment with the spell to master it, as well as the fine inks you need to record it. Once you have spent this time and money, you can prepare a number of spells from this book during a long rest equal to your proficiency bonus, casting them using your own spell slots.

Improvisation

At 14th level, you gain the ability to briefly replicate the spells of other spellcasters. Once per day, you can cast a spell from any spell list of a spell level of 3rd level or lower. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until after you finish a long rest.
