Base Class: Warlock
Familiar's swear, or are made to swear, binding oaths to magic users of such great power, that they can rival even the more regular patrons of warlocks in power. In return for these oaths Familiar's are given great powers, but the cost for these powers is that the Familiar's patron have gifted them power to serve them, they expect a loyalty the more distant fiends or fae do not, and will come for there pound of flesh should a rebellion be sensed.
Master's call.
Like all warlocks you were created, power was loaned to you by a greater being. But for you that power came from a mighty Mortal, one who has a vested interest in you and will follow your deeds closely. The magic that connects you is powerful, and has a number of effects upon you.
*You gain advantage on all attack and saving throws against a target the Master can see and spends a bonus action to command you to attack.
*You have disadvantage on all attacks and saving throws against the master.
*The master's scrying spells all automatically succeed when you are the target.
*The master and you can cast the cantrip 'message' as a ritual with infinite range so long as you are both in the same plane and each one is the target. Unlike the regular version of the spell the cantrip can not be stopped by any intervening terrain.
Expanded Spell List
The Familiar lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Raben feathered
The Warlock gains powers to beter serve as his masters hidden eyes. at first level he gains the "Wild Shape" as per the Druid's class ablity. He may use it once per day at level one, twice at level six, three times at level 10 and four times daily at level 14.
Unlike a druid though the Warlock picks the animal he transforms into at level one and can not change it. He may pick any animal with a CR >1. The animal may have a swim or fly speed. Ravens or crows are often traditional choices for this, but any animal like a dog or wolf would work as well.

Starting at 1st level, you gain the ablity to transform into one animal as per the Druid "wild Shift" ability. You may use this power once per day at level one, twice at level 6, three times at level 10 and four times daily at level 14. Unlike Druids though the animal you change into is fixed at character creation and additional animal options may be added only at 6, 10 and 14. any animal chosen at level 1 and six must have a CR of 1/4 or lower. Unlike Druids the animal may have a fly or swim speed. At level 10 the animal may CR of 1/2, and at level 14 it may have a CR of 1

Posted Sep 4, 2018Excellent concept but poor implementation.
It seems like the premise is that the player is the "Familiar" of an Archmage- level spellcaster. Like a low-level caster may have a bird or small animal as a familiar, a Very High level caster may have figured out a way to have a low-level caster as his familiar. I like it. I think Warlock is the perfect choice of class too.
The Masters Call feature makes sense but I don't get the rest of the class. Is it Druid-y? Why? Are you supposed to be a small animal, like a regular familiar but better?
I would think that this could work as a unique and powerful type of servant or slave. Maybe a protector/bodyguard like a Thayan Knight, or an assistant/acolyte like a Jordain Vizier. These are both obscure 3rd edition prestige classes, but hey may be worth a search if you want to expand your thoughts on the concept.

Posted Jun 19, 2018Struggling to get through the writing here... But this seems pretty broken.
I don't really understand... is the PLAYER a familiar? If so, how are they also a warlock? Let alone a functioning PC with free will.
Who is the 'Master'? Is it just a DM controlled NPC? Gaining permanent advantage against an enemy the 'master' points at is woefully overpowered. Consider the Barbarian's Reckless attacks, it comes with the drawback of giving enemies advantage.
Wild Evolution. What does it mean to 'gain advantage for X minutes'. Does that mean that literally everything the player does is with advantage? Every d20 roll? How is this not completely broken?
Overall I think the concept might be fine as a warlock who is even more of a servant to their patron than is typical, but the balance needs work
