Base Class: Bard
The College of Bars was not an official Bardic College. It was simply formed from the society of the homeless that roam the streets, coming together and building themselves into a place of peace and beats. The College of Bars, while they're known for their insults, care deeply about allies and their main goal is to ensure nobody they care about has to experience what they did on the streets. They choose their family and will stand with their brothers and sisters, through thick and thin, come rain or shine, whether they're in the thick of combat against the deadliest of assailants or curled up together in a cave as a snow storm rages on outside, these Bards are some of the most caring people you will meet.
Legacy of the Homeless
Having grown up on the streets, you've gotten used to sleeping in pretty bad conditions. You can take a short rest anywhere and can find objects to improve the comfort of your allies by rolling a investigation check before the entire group takes a short rest or long rest.
You're able to take multiple watches throughout the night if the party does night watches. Doing so during a Long Rest will give the benefits of a Short Rest and doing so during a Short Rest will not yield any rest benefits.
The people of your hometown love you, you're an inspiration to them for the way you rose through the Collage of Bars. In the event that authorities are searching for you, the people will come to your aid and hide you until the heat dies down.
Verbal Riposte
When a creature targets you with a spell, you can use your reaction to sling an insult or compliment their way.
Insulted creatures must make a wisdom saving throw against your charisma check or they'll have disadantage on all attack and damage rolls for the next four hours, or until they succeed at a Wisdom saving throw.
Complimented creatures will recieve a bardic inspiration dice that they can use whenever they feel the need to.
Verbal Riposte can be used the amount of times equal to your Charisma modifer. These uses reset on a long rest.
Magical Verses
At 6th level, College of Bars Bards are able to write verses and assign them to their spells. If the player is able to recite one of their verses, they can use the spell assigned to the verse without expending a spell slot.
This ability can be used for spells the Bard knows up to level 5 and only works on Spells with Verbal Cast components.
The verse's lyrical complexity should be somewhat proportional to the spell's power (To the DM's discretion)
Only three rap verses can be assigned to spells at a time. You can change the spells you have verses equipped to during a long rest.
Magical Verses can be used two times and regains it's charges on a long rest.
Brutal Mockery
At 14th level, the Collage of Bars Bard will learn Vicious Mockery. This does not count against the number of cantrips or spells known, and in the event that the character already learned Vicious Mockery at an earlier level, they pick another cantrip to fill the space in their cantrip list that Vicious Mockery left.
Vicious Mockery can be cast using a spell slot to make it more powerful. A target will take 1d8 psychic damage when the spell is cast as a cantrip and can add an extra d8 for higher level spell slots, to a maximum of 8d8 from a 7th level spell slot. If you cast this spell with a 7th level spell slot and the target takes damage, roll a d20. On a 20, the target's Wisdom is permenantly reduced to 5 and they are unable to act for three turns.
You also pick one of three subclass features for Brutal Mockery that enhance it in some way.
Brutal Mockery is compatible with Magical Verses. The player is allowed to freestyle a burning rap at one of their targets. Depending on the DM's discretion of how well-constructed the verse was, and how offended the target was, this can do anywhere between 1d8 and 8d8 psychic damage to the target without expending any of your spell slots. You will not be able to use Crowd Mockery, Chaotic Mockery or Infernal Mockery if you wish to cast Vicious Mockery as a Magical Verse.
Chaotic Mockery
You can now expend spell slots up to level 9 to cast Vicious Mockery if you wish, which would result in 10d8 psychic damage to the target. If you use a level 9 Spell Slot, you gain access to Chaos Mockery, which will add a bonus effect to the attack depending on the result of the roll.
Crowd Mockery
Vicious Mockery becomes a pool of d8s. Instead of being forced to pour all d8s into a single target, you can distribute them among multiple targets as long as they can hear you.
Infernal Mockery
Vicious Mockery becomes highly personal. You gain insight into your target's past life and come up with some especially hurtful insults. Before rolling your d8s when casting Vicious Mockery, you can declare you'd like to use Infernal Mockery and the target will take fire damage instead of psychic damage.
