Way of the Thunder Fist

Way of the Thunder Fist masters teach their students how to channel their ki to manipulate the vibrations of soundwaves to inflict damage upon their opponents. Most practitioners of this path take themselves very seriously. They can be seen punching boulders, as they try to fracture it from the inside.

Thunderous Might

At 3rd level, you learn how to channel your ki into your opponents and the surrounding airways. Whenever you make a melee attack against a creature, the air around that creature begins to vibrate. If the affected creature moves from its current location, it takes an extra 1d8 Thunder damage for each time it was hit in this way.

You may now cast the following spells from your spell list using your wisdom modifier: Thunderous smite, and Shatter. In order to cast these spells you must spend 1 ki point plus 1 per level that you wish to cast it at. Spells can only be cast this way at up to half your monk level rounded up.

Sound Sense

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the perception skill. If you are already proficient with this skill, you gain expertise instead.

Thunderous Retribution

Starting at 6th level, when a creature within 5 feet of you hits you with a melee attack, you may spend 3 ki points and use your reaction to cut the damage dealt to you in half. You may then deal the same amount of damage you took as thunder damage to the attacking creature.

Thunderous Surge

At level 11, whenever you start a battle with 0 ki points you regain half you monk level of ki points, rounded down. (This will eventually be in addition to your perfect self feature at 20th level.)

Holy nimbus

At level 17, you can create a nimbus cloud as an action that has a fly speed of 90 feet. It is intangible to all others, but you.

Expanded Spell List

Starting at level 6, you may now cast the spell Thunderstep using wisdom as your spell casting modifier. This spell costs 1 ki point per spell level plus 1 to cast.
