Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The Soul Vessel

You have, knowingly or not, entered into a pact with a patron who resides in a plane between life and death, and have been imbued with the power of countless souls. Your body has become something of an arcane vessel for these souls, and by expending their life forces you can bolster the strength and vitality of yourself and others. Those who have made this pact often live much longer than is standard for their race, some even being able to channel their souls to ward off the need to eat or sleep.

While some choose to make this pact, others are chosen - they wake one day to find that their entire nation has vanished in a single night, and they possess new arcane abilities. Those who are chosen often dedicate their lives to finding out why, and by whom, the choice was made. Regardless of your path, you will not be without company - only death can deafen the screaming of the countless souls within you.

Well of Energy

At first level, you can draw on your inner reserve of souls to empower your own abilities. As a reaction when you make an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can roll a d6 and add the number rolled to your roll total. You can wait until after you roll the d20 before deciding to use this ability, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. When you reach 10th level in this class, this die becomes a d8, and when you reach 18th level in this class, this die becomes a d10. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, after which you must complete a long rest to regain all expended charges.

All is One

Starting at 6th level, you can channel your souls into regenerative energy as a bonus action once per day to gain one of the following effects:

  • Regain hit points equal to your warlock level + proficiency.
  • Regain an expended warlock spell slot.

One is All

Starting at 10th level, you learn to harness the life forces that dwell within your body to preserve your own life. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction once per day to instead gain hit points equal to your warlock level + proficiency.

Ascended Being

Starting at 14th level, your ability to channel your souls into life sustaining and arcane enhancing energy ascends you to a higher plane of being. You no longer require sleep, food, water, or air to survive. You no longer age, cannot die of old age, and any effect that attempts to alter your age has no effect. Additionally, you are no longer required to perform the somatic, verbal, or material requirements of your spells from the Pact Magic feature, provided the spell does not require a component with an assigned gp value.
