Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the All River, sometimes called the Way of Harmony, seek to understand and connect to the flow of ki in and around them. They learn techniques to redirect their opponents energy, hone in on and start to visibly see the flow of ki and magic, and practice advanced meditation that can give them premonitions of the future.
Redirect Momentum
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your reaction to redirect or disarm an opponent when you are hit by a melee weapon attack or when you are forced to make a grapple check while you wielding a monk weapon or have at least one hand free. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level, or the attacker makes the grapple check with disadvantage.
If you reduce the damage of a melee attack to 0, the attacker must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be disarmed, with the weapon falling to the ground up to 10 feet away. If a creature loses a grapple contest to you after you used Redirect Momentum, they are instead grappled by you.
Ki-Empowered Reflexes
Starting at 3rd level, your insight into the flow of ki through the universe can be used a tool in combat. Whenever you take the Dodge action, your ability to read your opponents movements allows you to add your proficiency bonus to your AC.
Eyes of the All River
Beginning at 11th level, you can channel your ki abilities into your vision. You can spend 1 ki point as a bonus action and for 1 minute your visual senses are altered in the following ways:
- You can see any living creature, via their flow of ki
- You can see any magical object or effect, via their connection to the weave
- Your visual senses shut out everything except ki and magic, perceiving all other things as darkness
- Your enhanced vision can penetrate most barriers, but it is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt.
Disruptive Touch
Starting at 6th level, you can temporarily disconnect an opponent from their source of magic. When you hit a stunned or incapacitated creature with an unarmed strike instead of dealing damage you can choose to setup an imperceptible ki barrier inside of them that prevents spellcasting or the use of ki. A creature affected by this feature must expend a spell slot or a ki point in order to remove the ki barrier, and thus the next time the affected creature attempts to cast a spell or use a ki point, the spell or ki effect automatically fails and the ki barrier is undone. This effect does not work on Intelligence based spellcasters.
Misty Visions of Future Shores
At 17th level, you gain the ability to enter into an intense meditation that plunges you into the flow of ki suffused throughout the universe. During this intense mediation which counts as a long rest, you catch glimpses, pieces, anticipations of events to come. You may spend any amount of ki points and roll an equivalent amount of d20s. Until your next long rest, you may exchange any of these d20 rolls with the base roll of any d20 attack, save, or check as long as you can see the action requiring the roll. The ki points used for this are taken from your ki points post long rest.
