Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Monster Tamers-
Monster tamers are rangers that have a special love for all animals they take care and raise animals they think that need to be saved or helped. If they see orphaned creatures left by the party they will right the injustice by making sure they rear the babies themselves. This soft spot does not mean they are themselves soft and they are some of the fiercest Rangers out there. They often are seen carrying around the squishes they have found everywhere.

Monstrous Companion

  • At 3rd level, you gain a monstrous companion you raised.
  • Choose a monstrosity that is no larger than Medium of challenge rating 1.
  • Monstrous creature can be chosen from home-brew or standard with Dm approval or alternately (Dm Approval)- Monster stats can be home-brewed as a full leveling character sheet  starting at lvl 1 and progressing ahead with the Tamer.
  • Companion takes its turn directly after yours in and out of battle and can do basic actions-  Eat Explore Move Attack Run away hide etc. However to use full attacks Tamer must take the time to train the Beast or its just an overly glorified house pet.
  • If you are incapacitated or absent, the monster acts and reacts on its own, focusing on protecting you and itself.
  • If the monster dies, you can obtain a new companion by finding a new monstrous creature  running up to a random party member and holding it up hollering look at my (.....insert appropriate description here....) Ex. *Runs up and lifts a baby red wyvern* "Look at my new red winged hiss rope!" Tamer must make a successful charisma save against party members protesting to keep.

Teamwork

  • Beginning at 7th level, on any of your turns in which you make a successful attack against a target, you can use your reaction to command your monster companion to immediately attack that target if it is within the monster's reach. Your monster companion has advantage on the attack roll. You can use this ability twice, regaining all expended uses of this ability on a short rest.
  • In addition, your experience raising, training, and living with monsters has vastly improved and you now have proficiency in training you new babies bonding much easier and faster taking less time and effort to train new skills.

Unbreakable Bond

  • Starting at 15th level, when you or your monster companion drop to 0 hit points, you have advantage on death saving throws while you are within 5 feet of each other.
  • Your companion will also jump in between you and a monster to protect you giving its life over yours if it sees you are in danger. (but do this to often and monster word will get around making it harder to find new squishes)
  • In addition, your experience raising, training, and living with monsters has made you a master of handling monstrosities. You can now train and raise monsters with ease with the monster double leveling until it reaches your same level.

Indomitable Duo

  • Beginning at 11th level, the bond between you and your monster companion is familial, as if your very souls are connected. You and your monster companion have advantage on ability checks and saving throws while you are within 30 feet of each other.
  • If you are about to be attacked by a creature within your monster companion's reach, your companion can use its reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. If the attack misses, either you or your monster companion (your choice) may immediately make an opportunity attack against it.
  • In addition, your experience raising, training, and living with monsters has developed into a true affinity. Even intelligent monsters who are normally aggressive and violent towards humans recognize your love for monster-kind, and are less likely to attack you if you are by yourself or alone with your monster companion.
  • When fighting a hostile monstrosity, you have advantage on Animal Handling checks to calm the monster and avoid combat.
