Base Class: Wizard
The secrets to Golemancy are passed down through families of wizards via ancient scrolls and tomes, using these ancient texts to learn to create and maintain Golems, Wizards of the school of Golemancy spend years forming the Golem which will serve them for its life. Many wizards avoid developing bonds with their Golems, but select group give in to this and see them as a family member instead of an heirloom, these members are not actively shunned unless they attempt to free other wizard's Golems from servitude, which is considered a high crime among Wizards.
Animation Student
Beginning when you join this college at 2nd level, you gain expertise with any 3 tools of your choice and proficiency in the Arcana skill.
Golem Creation
Starting at 2nd level when you join this college, you gain knowledge of an ancient tome passed down from generations which teaches you the secret to the creation of Golems. On the first long rest since you choose this college you forgo the normal benefits of the rest to create a Golem, the Golem you create must be of a solid material nearby you, gaining benefits and drawbacks according to that material. If the Golem’s material could not normally stay solid in its current environment, such as ice or snow, it can last 24 hours in that environment without turning to liquid. If the material could melt this time period can be expanded by 24 hours by casting a spell or targeting it with an attack which deals cold damage targeting it.
Examples of properties:
Durable (Stone/Wood/Ice/Crystal): +1 Strength + 1 Constitution +1 AC
Very Durable (Metal): +2 Strength + 1 Constitution +2 AC
Weak (Snow, Flesh): -1 Strength
Heavy (Stone/Ice/Flesh): -1 Dexterity
Very Heavy (Metal): -2 Dexterity
Light/Bendable (Wood/Snow): +1 Dexterity
Flammable/Meltable (Wood/Ice/Snow): Fire Weakness
Reflective (Crystal): Radiant Resistance
Conductive (Metal): Electric Immunity
Non-living (Stone/Snow/Ice/Metal/Crystal): Poison immunity
Every Golem is a Large Construct that has a walking speed of 25 feet, and immunity to being charmed. You calculate a Golem’s stats are calculated by rolling a d12 for its Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution stats. When creating your Golem you can also choose to roll a d6 and add that number to one of the scores mentioned above. The Golem’s Intelligence score is always 3, it’s Charisma score is always 1 and its wisdom score is always 10. Additionally, your Golem’s AC at 3rd level is 10, and it’s HP is equal to your Intelligence score.
The Golem is considered a familiar with the following exceptions, Your Golem can only follow one-word instructions and follows your instructions as best it can, it is able to understand any languages you do, though it cannot speak. Your Golem can also attack, making unarmed strikes only. When your Golem makes an unarmed strike the damage equals 1d8 + its Strength Modifier.
When you level up in this class, your Golem’s AC, Strength, Dexterity, and Charisma all increase by 1 point and it’s HP increases by your Intelligence score + the Golem's Constitution Modifier.
When your Golem drops to 0 HP instead of being knocked unconscious it becomes unanimated, shatters and is considered dead, if a Golem dies you can expand 1 long rest to form another, the new Golem having memories and stats equal to your previous Golem as long as you have access to the material that Golem was created out of, though it’s Strength, Constitution and Dexterity stats along with its AC decrease by 2 and it’s HP decreases by 5. If you do not have the same material the previous Golem was made out of, the created Golem’s benefits and drawbacks from it’s previous life are removed and new ones, as decided by your DM, replace them. You do not gain benefits from any Long Rests using this feature. At 3rd level you can only ever have 1 Golem at a time.
Modify Golem
Starting at 6th level you learn not only how to create golems but how they work, because of this you can now modify a Golem. On a long rest you can now expand a 3rd level spell slot to temporarily upgrade a Golem, choosing one of the effects below for the Golem to gain for the next 24 hours.
Strengthen
Your Golem gains a temporary +2 to Strength and advantage on Strength saving throws for the duration
Quicken
Your Golem gains a temporary +2 to Dexterity and its movement speed raises by 10 feet for the duration
Condense
Your Golem gains a Temporary +2 to Constitution and gains resistance to piercing damage for the duration
Weaponise
Your Golem gains proficiency with all Simple weapons and can use simple weapons for the duration
Enchant
You can now cast magic through your Golem and can use it as an arcane focus for the duration.
Shrink
Your Golem’s size is medium for the duration.
Grow
Your Golems size is huge for the duration.
When a spell slot is expanded this way it is not regained by a rest, instead you gain the spell slot back after 24 hours.
Advanced Golemancy
Beginning at 10th level you now can spare enough magic to not only maintain and create a golem, but to create and maintain multiple. Using your Golem Creation feature you can now create and maintain up to two Golems at a time, the new Golem you create begins stat-wise one level behind your current Wizard level.
Golem Master
At 14th level you have mastered the art of Golemancy, you can now maintain up to 4 Golems at a time. When you use a feature from this class that requires you to take a rest, it now only takes you a short rest.
