The Bakery Domain focuses on the healing capabilities of pastries and the joy baking brings to all kinds of people. Food is a force that all life requires to sustain itself and can even bring calm to a stormy mind. The Gods that claim dominion over such forces teach healing, love and respect and believe that it is best to show that love with a nice, sweetbread. 

Domain Spells

1st - Create or Destroy Water, Purify Food and Drink

3rd - Enhance Ability, Calm Emotions  

5th - Create Food and Water, Tiny Hut

7th - Divination, Compulsion

9th - Immolation, Animate Objects

Bonus Proficiency

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you are proficient with Cook’s Utensils.

Secrets of the Spice Road

At 1st level, you know exactly where to go to purchase your ingredients for cooking and baking. You can find all your resources in town for one third the initial cost.

In addition, you learn the prestidigitation cantrip, which doesn’t count against the number of cleric cantrips you know. For you, it has a range of 30 feet, and you can cast it as a bonus action.

Channel Divinity - The Secret Ingredient is Love

Starting at 2nd level you can use your Channel Divinity to bake small, personalized healing pastries. You pour your own love and channel your God's love into these pastries to give them healing power. Baking pastries take 1 hour and only 4 can be made at a time. These pastries heal 2D4 + Wisdom Modifier, require an action to eat and improve as both your Cleric and Baking skills improve. 

At 5th Level, 4D4 +WIS, At 11th Level 6D4 + WIS, and at 17th level 8D4 + WIS  

Adversely, you can also Channel your Gods strength into your pastries providing subtle flavors that bolster the character of those who eat it. Create the pastry of your choice that grants the benefits of the spell Bless.    

You may mix and match your pastries as well, you may create 2 healing pastries and 2 bolstering pastries, or whichever ratio you prefer. These pastries last 24 hours before becoming stale and the magic fades. 

These personalized pastries must be made with a single person in mind. Each individual pastry once ready will only have an effect on the person it was made for. You may create four pastries for four individuals, or split the pastries up however you like among your party.

The Proof is in the Pudding

Starting at 6th level you are able to bake a pudding, filling or mousse that can contain a spell you are able to cast. You mix the spell in as if it was an extra ingredient itself. This process still requires a spell slot to be able to place a spell into the pudding, however anyone who eats this pudding will be able to unleash the spells power. 

At 6th level you can have up to 4 spells baked. At 11th 6, and at 15th 8.

I'll Bring Dessert

At 8th level you are able to prepare excellent final course to cap off the night. Up to six creatures can partake in this fanciful meal. Any creature that finished their meal finds themselves feeling more whimsical. For the next 24 hours any creature who took part benefit from Lucky. You gain one Luck Point. Whenever you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you may roll an additional d20. You can use this ability after the original roll, but before the outcome is revealed. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw.

You can also spend one luck point when an attack roll is made against you. Roll a d20, and the attacker takes the roll you made. If multiple creatures use a luck point on the same roll, they cancel out, resulting in no additional dice.  

All Part of a Balanced Diet

At 17th Level you are able to place magical traps within your pastries. These pastries take an hour to prepare, can be made once per day and last 8 hours. These pastries appear as magical under Detect Magic and similar spells/abilities.

The trap is activated when the morsel is eaten, invoking the effect inside the creature that consumed it.

Magical Traps: 

  • You Are What You Eat - Depending on the ingredients you placed in the dish you bake you can transform a target into a creature. For example, using Crab Cakes would transform your target into a crab. The creature that eats this pastry must make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be transformed as if from the spell polymorph.
  • Spicy! - Any who eat this trap has their insides set ablaze! Creature who was unlucky enough to eat this pastry must make a Constitution saving throw or take 8D6 fire damage. On a successful roll take half damage. 
  • We All Scream for Ice Cream - A creature automatically succeeds if it is immune to being frightened. When this trap has been eaten the creature must make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. The target loses the ability to distinguish friend from foe, regarding all creatures it can see as unspeakable horrors and will attempt to fight or flee.
  • Food Coma - Any who ingest this dish will must make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or suddenly feel lethargic and fall into a deep sleep. They can be woken up if one takes an action to shake them or if they take damage of any kind.  
  • In Vino Veritas - Any creature that eats the pastry must make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or they cannot speak a deliberate lie, however if they find themselves aware can refuse to answer or be evasive in their answers.
