Base Class: Druid
Druids of the Circle of Peace come from ancient locations with strong links to the primordial forces that once created world. They tend and maintain the land, much as any Druid does, but they also act as guardians of the knowledge and wisdom of those early times, and resist the transformational forces that threaten it.
For them the world is threatened not by the pace of upheaval, but the scope of that change - from the world losing its connection to its hereditary roots. Change is not inherently bad or good, but some things should be maintained.
Peace Bonded
At 2nd level, as an action you can expend a spell slot to place a mystical binding upon a hostile creature that you can see. The creature makes a Wisdom saving throw versus your Spell DC, on a failure the binding takes hold. It lasts for 1 minute, or until you use this feature again. The creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns to end this effect. Any creature that is immune to Charm is unaffected.
While the binding is in place, you can impress you will on the creature, sapping it of its violent fervour. Whenever that creature attempts to make an attack roll against any creature within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction to cause one of the following effects (Before the roll is made):
- Hesitation: If the attack is made with advantage, cancel it.
- Dejection: The range of the attack is halved (to a minimum of 10 feet)
- Contemplation: The Creature's speed is halved until the end of its next turn
You cannot use this ability if your are Wild Shaped, unless you are in your Eternal Avatar form
Eternal Avatar
At 3rd Level you can manifest as the Avatar of all ancient knowledge – the owl. You gain the following additional options for your wild shape:
- Level 2: Owl (CR 0)
- Level 4: Giant Owl (CR ¼)
- Level 8: Owlbear (CR 3)
Soul Reading
Starting at 6th level, you gain the ability to assess the violence within a person’s soul, even if they are trying to hide it from you.
As an action, you can study a creature and discern if it hostile to you, and intends to do you or your allies harm. You do not know how it intends to do this, but you do detect if this hostility is Imminent (The next Minute), in the Future (Intended at a later time or date), or Conditional (once a specific trigger has been met).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom Modifier, and you regain all uses after a Long Rest.
Chains of Rebuke
At 10th level, the power of your Peace Bond now turn your enemy’s violence against themselves or their allies as your will to resist destructive transformation pushes back against those who seek to do harm and destruction.
Whenever you use your reaction to activate one of your Peace Bond abilities, you can choose to end the effect, causing the binding to grown thorns and constrict upon that creatures very will. The target takes 2d8 psychic damage + 1d8 for every level of the spell slot used above 1st when using the ability.
Atavistic Renewal
Starting at 14th level, any time you assume your Eternal Avatar form, you regain the use of that Wild Shape once the form has finished.
Sphere of Restraint
At 14th level, as an action you can create a Sphere of pure will that emanates from you, supressing destruction and violence in all its forms. This effect lasts for 1 minute, or until you choose to end it as a free action, and it requires your concentration to maintain, like a spell.
Until the effect ends, every creature within 60 feet of you that suffers damage suffers half damage instead. Also as a bonus action, you can choose 1 creature that you can see within 60 feet and attempt to banish it. It must make a Charisma save or be sealed inside a neutral pocket dimension until the start of you next turn.
You may use this feature twice, and regain all uses at the end of a Long Rest
