Base Class: Wizard
Most ascribe life and death to the dominion of Clerics and Gods. Wizards of the Immortality tradition contest this, focusing their studies between the schools of necromancy and transmutation to circumvent mortality. The tradition teaches methods by which Immortalists reduce divine magic to it's arcane base. Some seek the tradition for themselves, while others hope to bring the information locked behind theocracy to the masses. As adventurers, they focus on using arcane healing and changing their bodies as dangers arise. The Immortality tradition is a path to a longer life, and a protection from death. Those seeking to extend their life to true immortality and indestructibility may find themselves walking down the path to Lichdom.
Eternal Acolyte
Beginning at 2nd level, you have unlocked the divine's ability to affect the body. You learn the Spare the Dying and Thaumaturgy cantrips.
Additionally, you gain proficiency in the Medicine skill and have advantage on checks made to identify causes of death.
Arcane Bloodwell
At 2nd level, you learn to infuse yourself with arcane energy as a means of sustaining your body and prolonging your life. As a bonus action, you can expend one spell slot to regain 1d8 hitpoints per level of the spell slot expended. Alternatively, you can forgo this healing to cure one disease or neutralise one poison affecting you.
Liberated Anatomy
At 6th level, when you cast a spell that requires concentration and targets only you, you can choose to grant yourself a +2 bonus to your AC or a +2 bonus to Dexterity or Strength saving throws for the spell's duration.
Unfettered Body
At 10th level, you loosen mortality's grip on your own life. For every 20 years that pass, your body only ages 1 year, and you cannot be magically aged. You are also no longer required to eat, drink or sleep, although you can still choose to do so.
Additionally, when you use your Arcane Recovery, you end any effects causing you to be blinded, deafened or paralyzed.
Soul Safe
Starting at 14th level, you can bind your soul to an object of your choice that holds sentimental value. By completing an uninterrupted ritual over the course of 24 hours, and expending ritual ingredients worth 5000 gold pieces, you infuse a Tiny nonmagical object with your life energy, and it becomes a Soul Safe. The Soul Safe gains an AC of 21, has 20 hitpoints, immunity to poison and psychic damage, and resistance to all other damage. If you infuse a second object in this way, the first reverts to it's normal form. This ritual is taxing on the soul, and can only be performed once a month.
If you die while on the same plane of existence as the object, your body isn't destroyed, and if no other effects would return you to life, you immediately return to life with all your hit points, gain one level of exhaustion, and the Soul Safe is destroyed.
