Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

A small golden gem stone sitting alone in a field as a Goliath herd ravages a small village begins to glow and pulse as a young Goliath, new to battle and eager to show his metal, is being pushed back by more experienced knights. The stone leaps to the boy granting him visions of victory and a new fire in his heart to win this battle. His foes slain and the gem begins to speak to the boy telling him of a new destiny.....

An Elvish Knight defending his part of the forests from the rage of a young green dragon manages to slay the great beast and win his homes safety for the day, as he turns to return home the dragons chest glows and a small emerald gem floats toward the knight. As he clutches it in his hand an older voice whispers a new destiny for the young knight.

A human in the midst of war and battle fights for his life. Constantly battered and bruised, he fears the end is near, but just as he is cut down, his father's old pendant springs to life and in a blaze enveloping his body, emerges donning striking red armor and wide spread wings.

All of these people have been chosen as part of their destiny to be a dragoon. They will become the weapons of fate, slated to serve a greater cosmic plan. They are soldiers and embrace combat to the end with a prowess for almost dance-like fighting skills that lead to the build of their fighting spirit in a display of massive power. Dragoons may just be as old as the dragons themselves, though how they came to be is a mystery.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, the dragon spirit within your gemstone grants you access to a well of magic to augment your martial prowess. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the druid spell list.

Cantrips

You learn two cantrips of your choice from the druid spell list. You learn an additional druid cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots.

The Dragon Spirit Knight Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast you druid spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or highter. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Faerie Fire and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Faerie Fire using either slot.

Spellcasting Ability

Wisdom is your spellscasting ability for your spells, as your bond with your dragon spirit will continue to grow with your experience. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency  bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Dragon Spirit's Bond

At 3rd level, your dragon teaches you a way to imbue its spirit into your weapon and bond it to yourself. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest. The weapon must be within your reach throughout the ritual, at the conclusion of which you touch the weapon and forge the bond.

Once you have bonded a weapon to yourself, you can’t be disarmed of that weapon unless you are incapacitated. If it is on the same plane of existence, you can summon that weapon as a bonus action on your turn, causing it to teleport instantly to your hand.

You can have up to two bonded weapons, but can summon only one at a time with your bonus action. If you attempt to bond with a third weapon, you must break the bond with one of the other two.

Dragoon Spirit Armor

Beginning at 7th level your dragon spirit begins to manifest in the form of armor with wings. Once per long rest, your AC increases by 1 and you gain a flying speed of 45 ft. This ability takes its toll on the body and can only be sustained for 1 minute.

As the Goliath raised his great axe to deal the final blow, the red stone within the warriors sword began to glow crimson! The Red Dragon Spirit chose to save the boy by granting his the armor needed to fend off the Goliaths axe and grant him the wing to gain an advantage of speed on his attacker. "Defend yourself now young warrior! Use my Wings to gain victory in this fight."

Spirit Severing Strike

At 10th level, you learn how to make your weapon strikes undercut a creature’s resistance to your spells. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, that creature has disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes against a spell cast before the end of your next turn. This ability can be used a number of times equal to half your fighter level per long rest.

Dragon Spirit Wave

At 15th level, your Dragon Spirit becomes more vocal and when you take your Action Surge they unleash a wave of force like a great roar in a 30 ft radius. Every creature of medium size and smaller in that radius makes a DEX saving throw and is pushed away from you 10 ft. On a failed save the creature is knocked prone.

Improved Dragon Spirit Armor

You are now in more control of the Dragon Spirit within your gem. Your Dragon Armor now gives you a +3 to AC and your flying speed is now 60 ft. This armor can now be used 3 times before a long rest.

"The Dragon Spirit granted the knight greater power for this final confrontation with his father. The Cruel King could no longer hit the knight as he flew into the battle dealing the final deadly blow. As the blood dripped from his lance, a tear came across his face. The Cruel King shed a tear as he was finally free of the curse that forced him to live these long years alone and in constant pain."
