Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Deities of fate and luck are by their very nature inscrutable to most mortals. Unlike gods of the storming seas or soaring suns, the influence of a fortune deity is simultaneously omnipresent and nigh impossible to detect. These beings toe the lines between good and evil, law and chaos, and then proceed to use that line as a jumping rope.

Why a god of fortune might choose to favor one mortal over another is anyone’s guess. However, for an individual whose luck brings about not merely a blessed existence, but a holy one, the chance to surf the tides of chaos can provide an edge in almost any scenario.

Domain Spells

You gain domain spells at the cleric levels listed in the Fortune Domain Spells table. See the Divine Domain class feature for how domain spells work.

Fortune Domain Spells

CLERIC LEVEL SPELLS
1st bane, bless
3rd enhance ability, mirror image
5th beacon of hope, bestow curse
7th death ward, divination
9th dream, greater restoration

Bonus Cantrip

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain the guidance cantrip if you don’t already know it.

Tip the Odds

You use your action to touch a willing creature and grant it a slight say in its destiny. At any point in the next hour, the creature may choose to gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. It must make this choice before making the roll.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Channel Divinity: Fateful Moment

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to bend fortune to your favor. When you make a saving throw, you can use your Channel Divinity to gain a +5 bonus to the roll. You make this choice after you see the roll but before the DM says whether or not the save is successful.

Channel Divinity: Fortune God's Blessing

At 6th level, when a creature within 30 feet of you makes a saving throw, you can use your reaction to grant that creature a +5 bonus to the roll, using your Channel Divinity. You make this choice after you see the roll but before the DM says whether or not the save is successful.

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip.

Avatar of Fortune

At 17th level, the odds are ever in your favor. When a spell or class feature of yours would grant you or another creature advantage on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, that creature may reroll one of the dice once.

In addition, when you would normally add or subtract one or more dice from an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw as part of a spell’s effect, you instead use the highest possible number for each such die. For example, bane does not subtract 1d4 from affected creatures’ attack rolls and saving throws, but instead imposes a flat -4 penalty.
