Bard
Base Class: Bard

Practitioners of clownhood are known to travel the land, bestowing the gift of laughter to the masses; using quick movement, ridiculous costumes, and slapstick comedy to tell their story.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Clownery at 3rd level, you have mastered the art of costuming yourself or others in baggy, colorful clothing, wear big accessories and painting faces in bright colors, as well as doing tricks of the hands, juggling all manner of items, or tumble or doing some sort of acrobatics to entertain. You gain proficiency in the Disguise Kit, Sleight of Hand, and Acrobatics. If you are already proficient in the Disguise Kit, you can add your proficiency bonus twice on any roll that uses the Disguise Kit.

Distracting Performance

Also at 3rd level, you know how to get eyes on you, whether its with funny or mocking words, acts on tricks with your hands, or moving your body in a weird or funny way. When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and subtracting the number rolled from the creature’s roll, also if a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you is attacked you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and subtracting the number rolled from the creature’s AC. You can choose to use this feature after the creature makes its roll, but before the DM determines whether the attack roll or ability check succeeds or fails, or before the creature deals its damage. The creature is immune if it can’t see or hear you.

Slapstick Master

At 6th level, you learn to move your body in ways that allow you shrug off blunt blows and falling in ways that don't hurt as much. You gain resistance to bludgeoning damage and you can use your reaction when you fall to reduce any falling damage you take by an amount equal to three times your bard level.

Clown's Luck

Starting at 14th level, you have a natural luck about you and a way that you can gain some good luck now for getting some bad luck later. As a reaction, when a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see rolls a saving throw, but before the DM determines whether the saving throw succeeds or fails, you can declare the roll is a success or fail (a creature can still use their legendary resistance to succeed even if you called it a fail), or if a creature within 60 feet of you suffers a critical hit, you can turn that hit into a normal hit. Any effects triggered by a critical hit are canceled. You can only use this ability equal your charisma modifier per long rest.

Whenever you use this ability, the DM rolls a consequence die on the comeuppance chart for an event that will happen out of combat. All consequence dice rolled between long rest will stack on to one event, and the character will have a -1 to all charisma checks for one week per consequence die used. If the dice total four or more the party will take half the penalty to charisma checks for the same duration.
