Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Path of the Calm Soul barbarians are those that fear the chaos of rage. They have witnessed the travesties of anger and violence before. They may even be the cause of it. Most Calm Soul barbarians eventually abandon their old ways and become monks. A few, however, lack faith that the fire burning within them will ever be doused. They learn to better control their rage but are anxious nonetheless about letting it all out.

Serene Defence

At 3rd level, your steel mind and stronger will stand tall against the forces that oppose you. While not in rage, you gain resistance to psychic damage and your unarmored AC is 12 + your Dexterity and Constitution modifiers.

Soothing Aura

At 6th level, your mind falters not in the face of terror. Your presence calms even those around you. While not in rage, you are immune to the frightened effect, and all allies within 10ft of you have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Disarming Peace

At 10th level, your calming voice soothes all but the angriest individuals. While not in rage, you can make a special action on your turn. Choose 1 target within 30ft of you. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. The DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier. On a fail, the target drops whatever weapons they are holding and cannot wield a weapon for 1 minute. Additionally, if the target is raging, their rage ends and they cannot rage again for 1 minute. Creatures that are in a frenzy automatically succeed the check. You can only affect 1 target with this feature at a time. You have a number of uses equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1) per long rest.

The Storm After the Calm

Beginning at 14th level, your experiences with controlling your emotions have taught you one thing. Sometimes, it is okay to get mad. Really, really mad. The first attack action you make in combat while raging automatically hits and crits. Additionally, when an opponent hits you or another target within 5ft of you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity against them. You can enter rage as part of this reaction.
