Base Class: Fighter
Dragoons are legendary dragon hunters renown for their ability to fight dragons on their own level with the remarkable ability to jump dozens of feet into the air and slam into their opponents with pinpoint accuracy. Those who follow this archetype excel at fighting in large open spaces.
Traditional Weaponry
Dragoon techniques are designed for a small pool of weapons. You can only access the dragoon's features while using a spear, lance, halberd, glave, or pike.
Dragoon Jump
Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you can take an action to jump up to seventy feet into the air. While you are in the air advantage on all saving throws and can move a distance equal to your remaining movement speed plus five feet. At the start of your next turn you land creating a shockwave that hits all creatures within 5 feet of you, all creatures within this radius must make a dexterity saving throw or take damage as if you have critically hit them. If you land in the same space as a creature they take half damage on a successful save. You receive no fall damage so long as the distance you fall is no more than the distance you jumped.
The saving throw for dragoon jump equals 8 + strength + proficiency bonus. The damage dice increases as you gain extra attacks, up to x3. You can take this action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus before having to take a long rest.
Dragon Bane
Starting at 7th level, you have advantage on saving throws against a dragon's fear or breath attack and take no damage when you succeed on your saving throws against a dragon's breath attack.
Additionally, Dragons have disadvantage on their saving throw against your dragoon jump.
Airborne evasion
At 10th level, while in the air as part of a dragoon jump all ranged attacks on you have disadvantage and you can move half your moment speed as a reaction if a creature enters your reach, this movement does not activate an opportunity attack.
Additionally, while airborne you can make a melee attack against one creature within reach of you as a bonus action.
Improved Dragon Bane
At 15th level, any melee attack made against dragons deals max damage. Additionally, if a dragon has legendary resistance it can't use it to avoid your dragoon jump.
Dragon's Endurance
At 18th level, when you roll initiative and have no uses of dragoon jump, you regain one use.
