Path of the Flagellant

Most beings fear blood and pain, however those infatuated with their belief believe that the flesh is merely a container for disease and sin. A Barbarian that embraces this path embraces a lifestyle that rewards those that remove the sin from their flesh the only true way, by lashing it out. Many tribes have abandoned this ancient ritual for less fervid claims to faith. However, those who hold fast are rewarded by their bloodied God with the power that can only be invoked by exsanguination. The pleasure of your God viewing your piety fills you with a joyous red rage.

Flagellant's Lash

Beginning at 3rd level the Barbarian crafts a personal lash that can both be used for flagellation or as a weapon. The devout Barbarian carries their lash with them at all times. The lash brings absolution and purity. Bringing the Barbarian closer to their smiling God.

• Your lash is a martial melee weapon that you are proficient with and uses Strength for attack and damage rolls. 
• Your lash deals 2d4 Slashing damage. This damage increases to 2d6 at 6th level, 2d8 at 10th level and to 2d10 at 14th level.

The Lash's Sin

Starting at 3rd level, as you go into a barbarian rage you may flagellate, striking your self with your lash dealing slashing damage to yourself and empowering your rage and your lash with the sinful blood. The next creature hit with an attack from your lash must succeed a DC 8 + Constitution Modifier + Prof. constitution saving throw or become cursed for 1 minute. At the start of each of their turns for the duration of the curse the creature takes necrotic damage equal to your rage damage. 

You may use an attack action to flagellate again, striking yourself your lash and empowering it with your blood. You are not resistant to your lash's damage. 

The Lash's Rage

At 3rd level, while you are raging when you have half of your maximum hit points or lower, you are filled with the joy and love of your God. Their soft and beckoning voice echoes in your head, pushing you on, filling your strength. Whenever you successfully hit a target with your melee attack, deal double your rage damage.

Exsanguination

At 6th level, when raging you may spend an action to flagellate using your lash dealing slashing damage to yourself, including your rage damage. You hear your God's voice and your blood boils and your heart pumps. With great pain your blood sprays in a 15 foot cone, each creature caught in this cone must make a constitution saving throw DC 8 + Constitution Modifier + Prof. A creature takes necrotic damage equal to your lash's damage on a failed roll or half as much on a successful one. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier. 

Call of Suffering

You’ve found purpose and absolution in suffering, at 10th level, while you are raging as an action you may kneel and lash yourself and call to your God dealing your lash's damage to yourself. Your anguished cries, the crack of the lashes against soft flesh, the splatter of blood and the look of pleasure in your strained smile begets fear in your enemies. All enemies within a 30 foot radius that can see you must succeed a Wisdom saving throw of 8 + Constitution Modifier + Prof. or be frightened for 1 minute. They may re-attempt their wisdom save at the end of their turn.

Ascension

At 14th level, your God truly sees your devotion, when you are raging you can feel their tender touch guiding your heart, blessing your very blood. While raging, at the start of each of your turns you regain 10 hit points if you have no more than half of your hit points left. You do not regain hit points if you are unconscious.

Additionally, while you are raging and have less than half of your total hit points, attacks with your lash deal radiant damage.
