Blood Hunter
Base Class: Blood Hunter

The Order of the Wyrmslayer is a fairly new order since initiation requires a vial of dragon's blood. Most intiates do not survive the quest to retrieve the blood and even less the transfusion. Wyrmslayers have come to disagree harshly or even be disgusted by the romanticism placed on dragons and know the true horrors they can visit upon unsuspecting victims and work hard to ensure others do not have to find out.

Rite of the Brood

When you join this order at 3rd level, you proclaim your Quarry (the color of your Quarry determines the damage caused by your rite.) You may spend 10 minutes studying any dragon or dragon-related monster to change your Quarry. You learn the Rite of the Brood esoteric rite (detailed below).

Rite of the Brood. Your rite damage is the weakness of your quarry damage (i.e. fire for blue dragons.) While the rite is active, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to your Quarry's main offensive damage type.
  • Your weapon deals one additional hemocraft die of rite damage when you hit a dragon or dragon-related monster.

Wyrm Magick

Beginning at 3rd level, your ancient order teaches you to channel the magicks inherent in dragons and use it in their tracking. You gain proficiency in Arcana ability checks. Additionally, you may cast the Detect Magic and Identify spells as a ritual.

Wyrm Magick

Beginning at 3rd level, your ancient order has taught you how to channel the inherent magicks in your transfusion of dragon blood to better track the creatures. You are able to cast the Detect Magic and Identify spells as a ritual.

Spellcasting

You are able to channel the magick inherent in your transfusion to better track your prey.

Wyrm Flight

Upon reaching 7th level, at the start of your turn, if you aren’t incapacitated, you can choose to sprout a pair of dragon wings capable of short bursts of flight.

You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. If you do not land you are knocked prone and fall. You must land to be able to use this feature the next turn if applicable. This feature lasts for a number of rounds equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1 round).

You can use this feature once. Beginning at 15th level, you can use your Wyrm Flight feature twice between rests. You regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

Brand of the Dreadful Aspect

Beginning at 11th level, your Brand of Castigation now forces your prey to feel the dangerous presence of a dragon, leaving them vulnerable to your Crimson Rite. Whenever you damage a branded creature with your Crimson Rite, your weapon deals one additional hemocraft die of rite damage. In addition, after a successful attack, you may force your target to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature is frightened of you until the beginning of your next turn.

Blood Curse of the Dragon Phage

At 15th level, the transfusion of dragon blood that you took to join the order starts to mutate and change physical aspects of yourself such as scales, eyes, and claws. You may use a bonus action to empower your chosen aspect.

Wyrm Claws

As a bonus action, you can empower your claws to slash through your enemies. Your claws deal 1d8 magical slashing damage.

Wyrm Plating

Beginning at 15th level when you gain access to the Wyrm Phage feature, you may use a bonus action to cause the scaling resulting from your transfusion to harden, granting you a +2 bonus to your AC.

Wyrm Sight

As a bonus action, you can empower your draconic vision, gaining Truesight out to 20 ft.

Rite of Fury

Upon reaching 18th level, you learn to channel your draconic rage at the moment you need it the most. When you are reduced to 0 hit points while you have an active Crimson Rite, but don’t die outright, you immediately gain 40 temporary hit points and your rite damage is increased by 2 hemocraft die worth of damage. You cannot be healed until the temporary hit points have been used. If you are knocked unconscious or the battle ends you lose your temporary hit points, additional damage, and you fall unconscious.
