Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

The Orbweaver subclass is one that focuses on the aspects of glassmaking, a craft that is rare is mysterious. This subclass will focus on making artifacts and orbs, each of which you can infuse with spells to make them more powerful and on hand, so that you can escape from a tavern brawl with an Orb of Haste, or blind everyone in the room with a vial of Fog Cloud. The world has been expanded with this type of portable magic, so do what you will with this craft!!!

Note: Please keep track of what spells you use for this subclass!!! It can mess up a lot of things if you cannot remember what spells you used for this subclass!!! I have placed this warning in the class as well so that you can remember. I Hope you enjoy!!!

Tool Proficency

When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with glassblower’s tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

Orbweaver Spells

You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Orbweaver Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Spell in a Bauble

Beginning at 3rd level, whenever you finish a long rest, you can use your spell slots of any level to produce a number of spell infused baubles, or small glass items, equal to your Intelligence modifier +1. The amount of baubles you can have increases by 1 at levels 5,9, and 15.

Certain effects of spells change when you infuse the bauble with that spell. Spells that require touch and spells that target yourself are modified so that the spell will cast on what it touches instead, and spells that have you choose a center point, such as Sleep, change to where the center of the spell is where the bauble breaks. The baubles are treated as a thrown consumable.

Creating an Spell in a Bauble requires you to have glassblower's tools on your person, and any bauble you create with this feature lasts until it is used, or you put a different spell into the bauble.

Spell Conduit

Beginning at level 5, your knowledge of containing spells exceeds to the point of where you can use your Spells in a Bauble as your spellcasting focus, and if you cast the same spell as the one in the bauble, it amplifies.

When you cast the same spell at the same level or higher as the bauble, the spell you cast becomes stronger, upgrading the level in which you have casted the spell. For instance, If you have a fireball spell in a bauble and you cast it with a level 3 spell slot, and using the fireball bauble as the focus, treat the spell as a level 4 fireball instead. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier/per long rest.

Bauble Split

Starting at level 9, You have mastered glass blowing enough to where you can isolate 2 spells into the same bauble without the spells fusing together, if the bauble is big enough to store both spells.

The requirement to hold 2 spells in one bauble are much harder than usual though. The spells have to be of the same level, and have to be casted directly after each other in order for the bauble to hold both. If you try and put a spell into a spell in a bauble with one spell, the spell will be replaced like normal. The spell slots used for the dual bauble do not recover until the bauble is broken and the spells are used as well.

Bauble Mastery

By level 15, you have mastered the art of bauble crafting and spell storing, and you can duplicate any bauble or small glass item you make with a spell in it using your glassblower's tools, up to twice per long rest.

  • These baubles do not add to your Spells in a Bauble total.
  • These baubles are temporary, and will only last for an hour after creation, since these temporary baubles are meant to be used.
