Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Windrunners take up to 5 oaths to advance their abilities, each of which grants more spell points. They must swear one of these oaths to obtain levels 3, 7, 10, 15, and 18. Oaths grant access to magical weapons, armor, and access to more magical energy.  The ability to swear these oaths is granted by a bond with an Honor Spren.

Windrunner oaths are themed toward protection, particularly defending innocents or those who are unable to protect themselves.  The Windrunners tend to attract “big sibling” types, who seek to protect the defenseless, but also enjoy action and fighting for what they believe in. They’re primarily scouts, though they often work as special forces groups, able to deliver teams of adventurers behind enemy lines for secret missions. They tend to be the most like conventional soldiers, believing in structures of command, team dynamics, and the importance of a squad of brothers and sisters. They often have larger numbers of squires than other Orders and focus more than any other Order on mastering their weapons.

This sub-class was designed off of the Order of Windrunners from the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson (see brandonsanderson.com for more). For more information on the Order of Windrunners, you can look here: coppermind.net/wiki/Order_of_Windrunners
